USA like most big companies operates their own insurance. It's supposed to be private, but everyone there knew. So much for Patient Privacy.
The bills went straight to them before they came to me.
They probably knew the results of the biopsy before I did.
I might be an old and rusty tool, but I still work. Better than most.

But your right Driver. Folks look after themselves. Now it's time for me to look after me.

I couldn't afford it either. I had to pay $9600 out of pocket. I did an emergency withdraw on my 401K. Then after paying $700 every month for a doctor appts and medicine for 4 months, I remembered I was a vet, lol. I started going to the VA for free. It was rough for about 7 months though.

Take it a day at a time. It might get rough, but it'll get better.

Even if you have to change jobs, pre-skin cancer is not a disqualiying event, nor asked in a DOT physical. You don't have to report it. You are protected under ERISA from disclosing it or your company saying anything about it.

That's trucking. I knew a million mile driver who was jettisoned as a cork into a dumpster after an injury. No matter how many patches they stitch on you, you are an easily disposable wipe. Nothing personal. Besides, most of the "good" trucking companies offer 80/20 insurance without out of pocket ceiling. In a case of a serious illness/injury, 80/20 insurance like that is a straight ticket to a bankruptcy court. Sure, most of medical SOBs wouldn't even look at you without an insurance, so 80/20 might help, but you'll be broke just about the same as a guy without an insurance.

I'm not trying to be insulting, HOWEVER........with HIPPA laws and patient privacy rights being the norm these days, it's a stretch to think that this statement is the case. The health care provider on my insurance card says United Health, I'm unsure how (patient) bills OR more importantly, (patient) diagnosis information goes to a company before the patient? Notwithstanding the employer's right to know if your medically unfit to drive, your diagnosis is private and should not be shared with the employer, unless you personally share it with them.

Could you explain how you know this happened??

Yea, thats the way its supposed to work. But did you ever try to read 1 of those papers? It lists a whos who of folks who can get your medical info on request. Includeing, but not limited to, other Drs. Hospitals. Any intrested Government agency. The patient. Any guardien. And all responsible billing parties. And since all claims go through USA Corperate. They have access. Now as to how USA employees knew, i was schedualed for another proceedure, and never even mentioned the surgery on my arms and neck and shoulders to my family. But I sure did get a lot of condolence calls and well wishes from office staff before my surgery. So if I didnt tell anyone, even family, how else could they have known?

Sorry to read about your troubles. That type of surgery is quite common today,I have a few relatives who've had that done,it shouldn't be such a big deal.Maybe you're getting less miles because freight is slowing down?Talk to you DM about getting more runs, maybe he can help,I mean it's not like you can't perform your job,you just have to get checked on a regular basis.

    Falling apart...hang in there.

I commend you still wanting to put in a hard days work with what all you are dealing with.

It just sometimes just makes me sick when I see people who are perfectly caple of working and just don't want to and people like you who have a legitimate reason for not working but still will show up to work.

    Good luck with your treatment.

They are looking out for the other employees who get notices in the mail saying there premiums are going up because of too many claims. They did the same for you with a previous driver they bent over.

I had that surgery on my nose, where they remove, test, remove more, test more, that was it in my case.
Just went back last week, they "shaved off" a bump on my chin, really happy with that.

I drive passengers and want to look good, so a haircut, no garbage on dash, ect...
