So, I'm reading the Sunday paper about the oil boom in N.D. with trucking jobs available. The story also states how long time seniors are leaving because their landlords are raising their rents from about $500 month average to $2100 because of demand for apartments or anything with a roof.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Two bed room were just $50 more and 1000ft^2
Even at low end pay scale and 80hrs a week = $2650.00 every 2 weeks.Last edited: Nov 21, 2011

if you can find someone who will pay more for a product then you are currently getting, why not take it?
If you find a job that pays better then the one you have are you gonna take it? Yes....thats why your going to the oil fields. For the money right?
I am not surprised....It will be like that in TX soon I', sure.... -
I hope they will kindly wait untill after I have been there for a spell!!

gdyupgal Thanks this. -
Yep..everything here has quadruppled..luckily I work for a company that has housing for us that is cheaper of if we have an rv the spots are cheaper now that being said that is even expensive but cheaper then most ..my town house is 950 a month but if I wasnt a Power Fuels employee they charge 3000 a month is it price gouging YES but it is called a boom and this is where the money is and being employed verses unemployed is the benifit
for me at least

Paraphrase " Everything here has quadrupled " Hmm I wonder if I could start a care package biz off the cost difference. I would gladly ship for a decent profit on each item in your care package...
-
here's an example: this summer there were absolutly NO regular air conditioners to be found and I could have bought 100 Walmart ones for 99.00 and sold them for 125 and made a good profit but most people are qaudrupaling the prices out of greed..kinda makes me sad so I buy everything I need when I make trips back home..I do shop locally if the time & fuel are going to cost more making a Williston trip but I buy in bulk on those trips..we are looking at buying kit cabins to rent out but they want 50,000 for a 13,000 dollar kit so we're buying outside ND..sad huh
-
another tip if your bringing an RV it might be in your best interst to buy everything you'll need to insulate & skirt with you cuz most likely it will cost 10 times as much or not be available along with heaters and/or extra 25lb propane bottles those are hard to find sometimes also..I order alot online
