I've have really enjoyed this thread. Typical inserts by the unhappy, but overall very informative and upbeat. I am scheduled to be at the academy on the 4th of Dec. Look forward to meeting everyone. Playmaker, you struck a cord with this one. Thanks.

Well I have been home for a couple of days and it has given me a chance to reflect on my experience with FFE. There was alot of rumors and uncertainty floating around lancaster during the restructuring and phasing out of American Eagle.

Some rumors came true for (some of us) and others did not pan out as expected. Some of us got sent home on the bus after upgrading to wait for a truck to become available, some of us got issued brand new Volvos or Cascadias on the spot, Some went to go recover abandoned trucks, others went to go reposition trucks to other yards.

What i can say is this: Your experience will vary. There is no generic, cookie-cutter chain of events. What you read here on this board does not mean that you will experience the exact same thing. Some will get teamed up with great trainers(i did) others will not. Same for their dispatchers. Same for their equipment.

Since there are so many variables, your attitude is going to dictate how good or bad your individual outcome is going to be. Come in with the right attitude and doors sometimes open for you. Come in with the wrong attitude, and doors will be closed.

    To sum up my experience:
    upgrade to solo driver? yes.
Sent home on greyhound to wait for a truck? no.
Issued a brand new Volvo? no.
Sent home for home time while under dispatch? Better believe it!

I love being home with the kids. I havent seen them in 2 months. Gonna actually be home for the holidays!

    But the road...it's calling me...

    THE PLAYMAKER Thanks this.

Very true road virus. If u give them an additive they will give u one back. Me I sit back and run and don't cry or ##### about my truck and the took me off that broken hunk and put me in a brand new Volvo and put me with an awesome dispatcher. Best advice is shut you mouth, keep your nose clean, don't hit stuff and drive like there is no tomorrow.

It diffently looks like it is dragging. Road Virus thank you for saying what you did. I try to keep the best attitude out here and it has helped me tremendously. This thread keeps growing due to the postive attitude by me , SIR SPAT, REDNECKTIGGER, and you. Keep giving truthful answer about your experience and it will rub off. Thanks Gentleman let's keep it going. Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all you guys.
