How about that snow guys and gals? The later it got the worse the snow got on the highway. I just kept on trucking trying to get to my first shower after 6 days of being on the road. For crying out load I think I had a right to be upset.
Wishing everyone a better experience than I got.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie

Please don't take this the wrong way - it's in no way meant to be disrespectful or condescending or anything negative like that. But....

You're looking to get going again after a bad experience and you KEEP coming back to the shower thing. Let it go.

If you keep one foot planted in the negative past, it's going to be really difficult to make forward progress.

I really hope you understand what I'm trying to pass along and don't get offended. I'm having to do the same thing - letting go of the mistakes of others AS WELL AS myself in order to keep moving. To do otherwise is kind of like trying to pull away from a dock without releasing your trailer brakes.

I didn't take it the wrong way. I am trying to keep my head up and keep on trying. The best part about trucking for me is the peace and quite when you are alone. FYI I have a girlfriend who said she sells chrome for the big trucks where she works and one of the owners said he had to fire someone last week because they were stealing from him. The guy was stealing gas. She is going to talk to him and she try to help me out. I don't care if it is otr or local just let me drive and I will be happy having an income and no more complaints. After I get a year or so behind me maybe I can go back to the other trucking company with the tankers and make even more money. I know about the heavy hose and all already, but my ex-boyfriend works their (we call him the missing links lol). He has told me he clears over $1000 a week. He gets to come home every few days and has lots of weekends off since he is on a Monday thru Friday deal working 14 hours a day. I would love to have a piece of that.
Thanks and keep me updated about any company that is willing is accept me with gaps in my employment and less than 3 months otr experience.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie

Sorry it took me some time to get back to this thread...

Swift and Schneider will hire you w/o taking any refresher program as long as you still have a CDL

When I talked with Schneider they told me I needed a refresher and they only accept certain schools. And none of the schools are around here.

It is me again. I am back at trucking again. I think I am in the age discrimation period since I am now 52. I had 3 interview with a company that does homeowners insurance and I have 15 years experience with that and still no one will hire me. I mean I was over qualified for the position. So now I am back at trucking. Trying to find a trucking company that will reimburse me for school. At least this time I have my cdl license with hazmat and tanker endorsements. I couldn't find a company that will hire me after being out of school since Feb 2009. So if anyone knows of a company that will reimburse me for school expense please let me know.
    Sincerely,
    Debbie
