Well of course thats the point BUT, sometimes they just don't get that. I have sat, for up to 3 days at a meat plant before, waiting on a load. Not often mind you, but it has happened. A wally world and a movie theater wouldn't be bad. Plainview has that and so does Lexington, NE and a few others. Most don't tho.
So glad the company I now work for does not haul Cargill, National, or Tyson. Most of our loads, going out of Omaha, are preloaded and we just pick them up in the yard. I like that tho dealing with all the brokers to get back, can be a pain at times.
Oh.... a strip joint wouldn't be bad.(sorry Florida gurl)

Can't wait till the whole fleet gets to experience this great fuel plan that fleet 18 has been testing, its not ready to roll out on the fleet, multiple glitches with no driver input.... But our former DM Manager likes it... Any feedback on our New Improved DM Manager per todays Qcom message?

This thread is great. I should be starting Class A school with U.S. Truck Driving School in Denver on Dec 12th. I have been pre-approved for JBS and will hopefully start orientation on the first monday of January. I am a 28 year old former Marine with a clean MVR and Background. Out of all the starter companies, it seems like I have made the right choice in going with JBS. I could care less about home time as I don't have a spouse or children, or a home for that matter. I'm just looking for some info on this 8 week training period for anyone that has recently gone through it. No specific questions, maybe if I could just get an overview of your experience. Thanks guys
I was thinking about doing oilfield work, but have chosen OTR to get some experience driving and decide again later down the line. -
Semper fi! As a former marine you'll do alright here. Now as a former AIR FORCE E0D SGT I am used to being treated in a different manner....lmao. All kiddin aside jbs is (after all my griping) good for rookies and low exsperience drivers. After you have pulled-cattle 3.5 yrs flatbed 8 yrs, tank 3 yrs and 1.5 yrs reefer you, most likely, will have my and a few others attitudes. Good luck

I've never had a problem with the waiting at a plant or a customer, I know thats just trucking! Do I wish we got paid detention before 4 hrs? Of course! But that's the deal so I can live with it!
What I do have a problem with is the total incompetence of the Dispatchers and Load Planners! When they don't do thier job it effects my paycheck and my hometime!jlind and Florida Girl Thank this. -
Got out of King Soopers in less than 2 hours. Wish every day was like Black Friday!
