How would you increase truck performance?

I would have to agree about ditching the '09 ANYTHING. They are not made for performance, they are made to get great fuel mileage (which they totally missed the mark for with the 07-09 models)

Want to have a hotrod rig, then get an older 359 petercar or a K100 KW and a big 'ol kitty kat. There are plenty of mods you can do to them to get great performance and since they have been tested and done for years and years it won't be hard to find what works best for your wants. But ANYTHING you hotrod out will suck fuel, so expect 4mpg at best usually.

 

I got the issue of "Truckers News" that had the NASCAR hauler calender . All Freightliners "The official truck of NASCAR " .
Just more proof of how NASCAR has deteriorated .

 

it has NOTHING to do with nascar, Freightliner just was willing to pay more then the others. Paccar doesnt need to advertise like that, their trucks and their reputation speak for themselves.

It has EVERYTHING to do with what NASCAR has become . All that matters is money .

 

Do you know how many MILLIONS of dollars it takes for a team to send 1 car to Quilifiying never mind race. And how much it cost nascar to put on a race? 3 Teams shut down this week, over 500 people are out of work because sponsers are pulling out of nascar. Lowes is no longer the Main sponser of the 48 car, Home Depot is no longer the main sponser of the 20 car, the ENTIRE redbull team just closed their doors....All of this because companys arent willing to pay the $20million dollars to be on the hood of a car for 5 races....

Sony pulled their sponsership of 5 cars a few years back because nascar STOOD UP for themselves and refused to have a nascar race in Japan every year.

STP has sponsered every nascar for as long as i can remember, next year you wont see 1 single car with STP on it....


Nascar like anything else is a biz, and a very exspensive biz it is.

Sorry to say but yes since you just did it lol.

Do yourself a favor like said ditch that truck, get a k-whoppa or a pete. You can look good and have power without all the stuff you talked about.

 

An even better idea make sure you own it before spending money on any extras for it. Upgrading the truck just gives them one more reason to screw you over with a huge baloon payment at the end or something like that. Take a look at all the multi-million dollar companies out there they all just blend onto the background. The nail that sticks out gets hammered.

 

We're getting a little off topic but let me say this . You're talking about team sponsorship . I'm talking about the NASCAR business and the France family . They aren't hurting and they choose the official sponsors of NASCAR . They choose according to the highest bidder .
They care nothing about tradition and were bad mouthing the moonshiner roots not long ago . Without moonshiners there would be no NASCAR if Raymond Parks hadn't used moonshine money to give Bill France financial backing . Parks really got shafted when NASCAR was formed .

 

They brought Toyota's to the mix. They ditched Winston as the main sponsor cause tobacco sponsorships aren't politically correct Plus only rednecks chew or smoke. The real downfall was restrictor plates many years ago. Back in the day awesome Bill from dawsonville was turning laps on Talladega at 220+mph. Those days are long gone. If it wasn't for the fact my little woman loves racing so much it's stooped so low I couldn't give a rat's rear end about it. The sponsor stuff is out of control the fistfights of yesteryear wont happen cause they're wussing it down. I've heard so many ridiculous things from nascar that are so stupid, what was the one recently where they didn't want chey's drafting ith fords. Totally stupid and unreal. Which brings back to restrictor plates on superspeedways what ever happened to he who builds the baddest motor wins? That's right, teams don't build motors anymore either they buy them already built..
