Yeah, kind of worried about that. I have been checking my BP everyday this month. It is averaging 144/91 which is a little over the stage 1 limit. If I am over a little, does that disqualify me? Hoping that the doc gives me some meds so that I will be under those numbers when I do my DOT physical on Nov. 30. You said it takes a little while, why?

I meant can take them a while to get the right medication that will work for you. My sister has high blood pressure and she told me that have to try different medications on her until they get the right one for her. I'm not sure if that is how it is for everybody. Keep me posted on what the doc tells you and be careful not to eat too much on Thanksgiving.

Just make sure your not using the readers at the super market...i used those when I went to school, and I was all stressed out thinking I was stage 1 come to find out it's normal.

Gold_Miner, from what I remember you will be starting with Swift on November 30th. Keep us all informed on how it goes whenever you get a minute. I'll be heading there on December 14th.

    Gold Miner,
Make sure when you take the physical next Wednesday that you request your blood pressure be done manually with the cuff and stethoscope. The machines tend to read high. They will give you three trys so practice deep slow breathing and mentally calming yourself. Remember the folks at the clinic will work with you as much as possible to get you your card.

I started road training yesterday and my DPS road test is next Thursday but I will look for you before we head out Wednesday morning. You are in for a great time if you come in open minded and willing to learn. San Antonio has great instructors. Best luck to you.

Thanks Frank, yes do look me up. I went to my doctor and my Blood Pressure is 128/82. My doctor said I was using too small a cuff on my machine and it was causing false high reading. Since then, I got a new machine and it is always less than 130/85, so I was worried about nothing.
