They ask you questions about it, but you should know how to do a complete one if you are going to be a driver.

Whats your opinion on the FLR? Do you find it too sensitive at times? I've heard good and bad about it. Personally, I think it is a good idea, but that is coming from someone who has never driven a truck with that setup on it.

I like it! I had it break hard once when someone cut if front of me, but it let off right away. Lets face it as much as we try to pay total attention, sometimes on a long uneventful trip, you tend to relax. When someone cuts in front of me or starts slowing down, the truck adjusts the speed sometimes before I realize that they have done so.
So I do not mind it at all. It helps me keep a safe following distance. In fact you can not get closer unless you turn off your cruise.

    Hello,
I am wondering how much freight does Maverick have coming and going out of North Texas? I have already applied to Maverick and they are doing my employment verifications now. Hopeing to start orientation right after the first of the year. I am going to do the central reigonal. (not much of a region, I25 to I75) but get to stay out of the mountains.
I see where everyone is talking about fuel milage, Are you allowed to idle when the temp get down to the 20's?

I had 2 different trucks with them when I was leasing at Prime. They were both Merritor/Wabco I think, was the blue box on dash that even told me how far in front and how fast they were going. I liked it till someone cut in front. Every once in awhile there would be a "phantom car" (no car but slams on jake and brakes). This really sucked in the snow and ice when no cruise was on. That was very dangerous...especially pulling a tanker. I took it in cause they said it wasn't suppose to be active unless you were on cruise, but I had this problem in 2 different trucks and they claimed it was jut fine.

Not sure of the freight, but any truck that you get now is going to have an electric APU on it with Heat. You just set the thermostat and you are good to go. When the weather gets too hot or cold, you close the heavy curtain in the bunk, to help regulate the temperature.
When we had the older trucks without APU's the policy was to idle if you needed to but when you did not need to...turn it off. They were very reasonable.
