    Very cool.

Here's a guy that took 15 years to hand make a complete, fully functional, 1:3 replica of a Ferrari 312 PB. Amazing.

Out of curiosity. Anybody know the horsepower rating for these engines ?

I know it's miniscule. But it seems it would be much higher than the other engines of comparable size.

This one absolutely blew me away:

    http://craftsmanshipmuseum.com/tomlinson.htm

Made a model of the Naper Deltic engine, which was a 18-cyl, valveless, opposing-piston, 2-stroke Diesel and originally designed for marine and locomotive applications.

I've looked at the animations available and I still don't understand how it works. There must have been a roomful of guys with great big throbbing brains to figure that one out!!

You will understand it in the near future. :biggrin_255:

Here's a clue....it's a 2 cycle engine, and uses port induction. Just like the 2 stroke engines of old.

They'll be coming into mass production within the next couple of years. These engines are modular in design, and can be modified to "turn off/on and disengage" cylinders to improve fuel economy, as needed.

There was a recent article in Popular Mechanics regarding the full scale version of this engine. And it's practical uses.

I love these desktop engines. I think I'm going to try to do one myself one day.
