ARHG!!!! I blew the left rear inside dual on the tractor, lost a good milage load with a backhaul, and also blew an airbag. Got the tire fixed at Petro in Gaston, IN but they wouldn't be able to get an airbag till Monday, so now I am sitting at the terminal in Indianapolis. Which my guess is I'll still be sitting here Monday.

Careful or they may ban team driving..... -
I can see it now... New DOT rule. "No driving with your pants down and your junk in hand..."
-
They need to ban that by 4-wheelers too!!!!!

Since this seems to be the place to be, I wanna ask what the training situation is like at Central Refrigerated. Anyone on here train? Anyone here have comments they'd like to share regarding the current state of things there? I talked with a recruiter already, but it's not like I'm going to trust what he has to say. What are the odds of being paired with some "Lease-Trainer" with just 6 months experience and only in it for the money? Additionally, do they have company drivers who train or is it just leasees? I'm asking because I would very much prefer to experience the truck as the company maintains it since I won't be leasing. I would also like to know that my trainer will have survived at least one winter on the road, since that is when I'll be starting. I figured it would be nice to have a trainer there the first time I need to throw on chains or something, and even nicer if they had done it before.
Oh, and bigrigtruckdriver, welcome to Indiana. I didn't see a terminal listed for Indy on the CRS map, where would that be? -
I don't work for CRS anymore, 2 1/2 years was enough for me. I work for Werner doing Walmart Dedicated out of Gas City, IN I only run Indiana, Western, Oh, lower, MI, occaisonally up to Chicago, and sometimes down to Goodletsville, TN. I don't work hard and get a 34hour restart every week. Easy gig.

The chance of you getting a trainer with 6 months experience is not that good since they are required to have a minimum of 3 months winter driving to be a trainer. They may have 1 or 2 company trainers left, but most are lease. The trainer only in it for the money is very likely. Most of them are. You are picking a good time of year to learn as you will get help learning the snow side. Having to use chains while on the trainers Trk is possible but not guaranteed. If you have a good trainer, they will have you put them on even if it is July and 85 degrees out. The best way to learn them is hands on even if its not snowing. Good luck. Oh and yes I am a trainer.BolloxReader Thanks this.
