The idea of going threw kc a lot appeals to me. I live hour and a half north of liberty mo. Do u think this will be a huge advantage for hometime? Its so nice to read about a l/p driver thats making it out here! keep up the threads...very helpful

Kc needs to hurry up and get here tired of the bus ride but it all should pay off come Monday
EasyMoney025 Thanks this. -
LOL, Just think, you've only been on that bus for a coupe of hours. I was on the grey dog for a little over 13 hours, with a very nasty, smelly and over weight woman. Make sure that you keep your receipt from the cabby coming to the hotel. Marsha, my recruiter, said something about being reimbursed for it which is good because the dang fair cost me $36 with the tip. What time are you supposed to be here by?
-
Boss Hoss I need to apologize to you about something. I should of told you to rent a car instead. They will reimburse up to the cost of the Greyhound ticket. I just don't do Greyhound.

You have to have 18 months experience without school or 9 months experience with driving school I believe.

Yeah I looked into renting a car or taking a flight, but after talking to my wife (and her being very money conscience) we agreed that 13 hours was a small price to pay to take the grey dog. It was actually nice getting here early this morning, it gave me time to relax before the fun starts tomorrow. I took a nice swim and laid around in the hot tub for a little while today. It was nice and relaxing. I hope that I never have to ride the hound again!! Here's keeping my fingers crossed that this works for me and my family!EasyMoney025 Thanks this.

I am supposed to be going back to work in the morning. I hope I get a lot of miles because I need to make up for being off almost a week.
EasyMoney025 Thanks this. -
BigKid, I read that sometimes you are offered 3 loads to chose from and that you are not technically under a forced dispatch. If you choose a load that is their 2nd or 3rd offer that maybe has more deadhead miles but puts you in a better area for reload or has less time sitting than the closest load, will ACT still pay deadhead and fuel surcharge for the 2nd and 3rd choices?

I have to go and get my HAZMAT in the morning before i leave for orientation on Sunday. I will only make .94cpm till i get it and i believe in Tennessee it takes up to 90 days. I sure hope i can make a good check after everything comes out only making .94cpm. Didnt need HAZMAT to transport mail...lol...even tho i have had more than one corpse, or other weird stuff on my trailer haha....

One week to go,huh? Hows ur nerves holding out? I dont have hazmat either. Thats one thing ill have to get done. Im anxious to see what Boss Hoss has to say after his first day of orientation....truckerim2055 Thanks this.
