We know why you're really doing it. You work for England and won't admit it and you're just trying to keep that EOBR from kicking on to driving by crawling.

If you have an 18 under a standard (80K) load, there is no need to split the lower range. Use it as a 13. You will be fine.

The most I ever see any of those idiots do is wander around the truck and kick the tires with their flip-flops!

It's hilarious when they do that!

Where do you come up with this stuff?

    Speed bumps? Seriously?

The person that invented speed bumps should be killed slowly and painfully!

An 18 speed is all but completely useless in a highway truck!

Eh, just a bunch of parking lot warriors. Someone has to defend 47 open parking spot!

Just stay out of the parking lots, they smell anyways.

As long as they're not Mexican speed bumps, those will literally make you take flight if you hit them fast enough!
You were pretty much limited to 18 speeds if you wanted a high HP engine until they came out with higher torque rated transmissions in the 10-13 speed range.

To much common sense perhaps? If your goal is to slow down people in a parking area speed bumps, and or valleys (no not just the crater like surface of the average TA) would slow traffic considerably. Of course they are quite rough on those who feel getting up to 5th in a parking lot so they can make that really cool sound of a jake brake. I fail to see a downside.

Downside: Tearing off mud flaps when forced to back up while a flatbedder is trying to back into a spot.

This should have been a very good post, and there were a couple of good comments made pointing out the stupidity of someone racing through a parking lot. It's the other comments that shows the lack of intelligence that makes this kind of post necessary in the first place.

"How about those of us that get stuck behind all that mess?" If going slow is a mess Dna Mach, then you were going too fast through the lot to begin with.

Sorry Injun, I don't know what you've seen in five years, but in the 30 years I've been out here, I've seen more drivers for the big companies at fault when it comes to speeding through a parking lot. I don't mean to pick on the kids out here, but the fact is most of the parking lot Mario Andretti's look like they aren't even old enough to be driving a truck.

Pulling someone's kingpin is not smart, but cool your jets volvodriver01. You dare me to pull your kingpin? Get real boy. Your comment reminds me of the C.B. Rambos we're plagued with today.

Ruges, these people don't care. Talking to them is a waste of time. My source on that is personal experience.

Thumbs up to you medicineman. You've got the right idea, and trust me, you're not alone. The faster I see them coming up behind me in the parking lot, the slower I go.
