Yea me too, he hasnt gotten back to me yet but i am sure he will, To be honest dude i have not been in a truck in almost a week and i am starting to have withdraws. LOL all i see is bills pileing and no money coming in, i wish i was at this orientation to be honest. More anxious to have my own truck i guess, granted its not mine till its paid for but there facebook page shows alot of pics of people getting there truck paid off so. The 10 hour bus ride from Nashville is the only thing i am not looking forward too haha. Just watch movies on my laptop the whole way.

First day of orientation is over and I have to say that it actually was a really good day. To start the morning we got our buffet breakfast, which was good just like yesterdays, and then jump in the Holiday Inn van and head off to the Maintenance garage. When you get there you meet the service director and he goes over the procedures when bringing your truck in for service, and talked a little about how the trucks are equipped. After that we all headed off to do our drug screen.... Everyone passed. It is just a basic physical, nothing really to worry about. If you are a company driver, the physical is a little more thorough, but the two guys that are company drivers had no issues.

After physicals, we headed off to a sub shop for lunch then came back to the main terminal to go over some of the policies, talk about insurances and looked over the contracts. All in all, just a day of going over paper work and making new friends. I'll post a little more tomorrow once we go over a few more things...

Well ill be EASYMONEY....just saw you're from Murfreesboro. I used to run to Shelbyville at least once a week. Theres a place there that makes fan shrouds to go around radiators. I would haul them back where i live to Modine mfg. Small world. A lot of the time id stay at that truckstop on 231, shower and eat at waffle house. Lol

yea i live 2 miles from there, thats cool, my dad was a cop in shelbyville for a while before he died. I picked up a few Wal-Mart loads from the DC there off 231 before i hauled mail. Alot of Nissan freight around here do to the plant being in Smyrna. You pick a date to go to orientation if you wanna work for them that is. I tried to get ahold of Kim my recruiter today but she didnt answer or call me back. That pilot is where i will leave my truck during home time or at the hotel accross the street.

Back on the road after 6 days off. Deadheaded to Indy and got a load going to Kings Mountain,NC but I only took it to Corbin,Ky and swapped it with a guy and got his load going to Indy. I then took that to Memphis,In and swapped it with another guy for his empty trailer. Loading now in Louisville,Ky going to Olathe,Ks for Wednesday morning.

If you are offered a choice of 3 loads you are supposed to take one of them and it doesn't matter which one you will be paid the deadhead and fsc on all of them. However if you turn down all 3 then they won't pay the deadhead miles to the next load you end up getting. I would say though that you only get a load offer about half the time. I have only turned down like 2 loads since I have been here and they were both times where I was not given a choice I was just given one load. From what I have heard it is not really a good idea to turn loads down. I have one load that I just won't do then there is one place we go that I won't go to anymore. Not going to say what those are on here though.
