Check out JoeOnTheRoad on YouTube. He's from your neck of the woods and just started with Swift. Maybe he knows. And his YouTube videos are pretty interesting and informative.

Pay is now .25 to start with 6 pay raises for the first year, I would be happy with $600 to $700 a week for the first 6 months, I was making much less living pretty good with a gf and 2 kids and the gf wasn't making much $521 a month on SSD.Last edited: Sep 2, 2011

Talked to my recruiter again and I'm going to start the first week of october. The only problem that I had was I forgot about a deer/car accident I had so I have to get a report saying I didnt kill anyone. Other than that everything else is gooood to go. I'm excited to drive and as long as I make mor than 20 this year it's an upgrade for me.
Onthefence, I tried to reply to you but I dont have enough posts yet. I live down by newburgh. Went to a little school in washingtonville. -
The drop yard is still there I've been there a few times last month

I start millington jan 2 I am soo excited. I am happy I chose swift. Swift is not perfect but have u seen the competition. It was a no brainer for me. Here are some things I have learned from swift drivers #1. Study study then study some more #2. Less talking, more listening.#3. Cya!( keep it legal)#4.keep the left door closed! #5. There will be some level of B.S....so keep ya nose clean. I so look forward to becoming a part of the team, I am in love with the commadarie that most swift drivers have.

I'd say this one is part of that BS you've heard about. I've heard it, too, from some drivers, but I don't buy it. You've got to have a break sometimes. Granted, it's not a good idea to stop every half hour, nor is it a good idea to stop for a real long time. But a few pit stops (15-30 min) throughout your shift are not a bad thing. IMO, it makes one a safer driver to rest and recharge once in a while, plus it's healthier for your body.futuretruckerchic Thanks this.

I'm a little over 3 months solo, over the road and I was in Canada recently, Ontario. I gave Swift a copy of my passport at my terminal. No DUI's or felonies. Maybe other terminals run their Canada runs dedicated?

Just got out of orentation at PHX They were talkin about drivers gettin their FAST card. You get a load to Canada, you haul it to destination. No terminal drops. BUT Canada is very picky about who they will allow in. Gotta have a clean record.
