May has lowered their pay scale but my pay is in writing at the old pay scale.
They pay 30cpm now and that is what the site says now.
I am still on the trainers truck he wanted to do most of the driving but he ran out of hours and I had to run a drop up to salina Ks and switch with a team we took their load that delivers tomorrow morning here in smyrna Ga. We could not get our original load to oregon Because we would have to run almost like a team to get it there on time.
We are in smyrna Ga right now thanks to me.

My trainer has me to thank for 1/2 his pay check otherwise he would be broke this week he only had about 1500 miles before he roan out of hours I pulled in about 1600 miles for him he likes the 3000 + miles a week

Needless to say I am getting plenty of drive time now. And it helps to drive in tight areas I had a tight turn to get into the reciver and I had a guy backing up because he thought I needed the room I suprised him I swung way out to the point of almost passing the turn then cranked it I stayed in my own lane without using the other lane. Man I love freightliners.

Before when we got to the exit off the highway the trainer had me set the brakes and we would switch but since he has no hours he has no choice but to let me drive in town.

And he wonders why I did not pass my solo out test the first time I had been out of a truck for 60 days before starting with may.

And you all know how much experince everone gets at school just enough to pass the out the door you go.

Ps. they are desperate for teams right now I do not know what the pay is but it will be a lot of east to west coast runs.

You have been in training for four weeks, correct? Did I miss something? Did you have a problem? My spouse almost was out in two weeks, but because of the trainer doing everything himself, he (s/o) asked for more time, which if I remember correctly it was about a week. When this happened he was able to drive like a team. The trainer slept while he drove. Shouldn't you be able to at least drive like that by now?

Maybe they thought their quota was filled. For a while maybe. Turnover rate wasn't bothering them enough to do something on the flipside. ???

We are not allowed to drive like a team I was told it was against the rules. I would have no problem driving like a team if they would let us.

I was out for 3 weeks before we got to a terminal that was open on the day that we were there I messed up on a turn during my solo out test so I was suppose to be on the truck only 3 days it has been about 2 weeks but have not been able to get to a terminal to test me out again.

The main reasons I blew the test is nervous and the trainer insisting on doing most of the driving all though he is a cool trainer plus I waited before comming to work for 60 days after graduating from school.

I have not said anything about this trainer to his bosses yet because I want to get out on my own first.
Then I will just give a few tips on how he can improve his training like leting the student drive more than the trainer and anything else I can think of.

My trainer thought I was ready to test out 2 weeks after I got on his truck but we broke down in cali for a week.

We are trying to get us a load going west to utah or oregon so I can test out. But so far they have been giving us last minute loads that we have to switch with a real team,

The one we had to switch out today we were dispatched on it monday after we emptied we was doing a restart and we were going to get it tuesday so we went and picked it up we were told on the dispatch that it delivers this friday when we got there the shipper said nope it delivers thursday at 0300 we had to meet a team and get their load and now we are waiting with that load hopeing to switch it out because it is going to pa unless we can get something preplaned for us getring back to utah on tue the trainer does n ot want to go out east again.

Ps I am told they do not have many open trucks right now but who knows I have not been at any terminals for a while.
I am also going to offer to go recover truck in exchange for getting the truck I want and paid to do it.

Well, that is certainly understandable, (learning the ups and downs right away) trying to get to the terminal when there are loads to pick up and deliver, it is a lesser priority. You'd think the sooner the better for all concerned though.

:biggrin_25521:Don't even mention breakdown. My s/o just made it to Layton tonight from a 34 hr. restart/breakdown (take a guess at which was sent in first) I think that was on Monday in Denver. Broke down three times after that & made it to Greely?. Looks like they finally fixed the sensor that was given him trouble, otherwise he'd be somewhere in between, neither here nor there. HMM seems to me I've heard that somewhere before....:yes2557:

:biggrin_255:Good luck when you are able to test again! I still wonder about the team driving thing. Especially if you are told you're doing well and the trainer trusts you to drive while he sleeps.

:biggrin_25514:May is running short on trucks? That's not good news. My partner is looking to hire on with them next week and he will not be thrilled to hear that. He was really hoping to get one of them Pete 387's.

he will probaly not start in a 387 if he is new. They like sticking people in 379's from what the bosses have told me.

The running short on trucks is what I am hearing do not take that as the gospel truth just what I have been overhearing

they are expecting more new trucks for the people that have older ones to trade out of.

But to my understanding most of the old trucks have to go to the dealer as a buy back/ trade in's

I have been telling them I want a freightliner but they told me basicaly too bad you will get a 379.

They have told me that I will only be in a 379 for a short time but I do not like the square/boxey hood I like the rounded hoods

he must of have a 387 seen the pics and here is mt comment on mirrors.
I had a mirror problem on my trainers 387 when he had it. I had just got on his truck and we were going to jersey I adjusted it with a pole at the toll booth in pa did no damage just knocked it in place. I have had no problems with his freightliner.
