I was thinking about joining the TMC team and wanted to get the current scoop on what TMC offers:

    1. If you take the percentage option for pay, what constitutes a higher rate (low idle, fewer off route, longevity, etc.)?

-If idle time can hurt your pay, will they let you run an A/C or Bunk heater?

    2. What is allowed in the truck (Inverters, frig, A/C, Heaters, mic, coffee maker, etc.)? Better question may be Is there anything not allowed?

    3. Can you bring your own cb radio/coax/antenna(s) or do you have to use what they give you?

    4. Are routes forced or can you create your own (guessing this would be handy with percentage pay)?

    5. Are you assigned your own truck?

    6. What are the governors set at?

    7. Can you get Canada runs under Long Haul or are these dedicated runs?

    8. Paper or electronic logs?

Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Go to trucking company DAC reports section. Click on TMC and read through the threads. Most of your questions will be answered there.

    Good Luck.

Thanks for the help, some of the info in the forum was dated and I wanted to get an updated picture about their policies.

    Thanks again,

What about their toll policy? Do they have EZ pass? One forum said they used to, but no longer do, and that they were real shady about reimbursing drivers for tolls paid out of pocket.

Also as long as you send in a reciept (and p/o when required), they are very quick about reimbursing you

What about paychecks. They claim you'll make $40k-$45k to start. I've heard others on this forum say they only make around $30k-$35k. Is that accurate, or are these people just not working as much as they should be?

That is a VERY good question too. The recruiter stated 1st year, with performance pay, being 45,000. Is this true? I've also heard that ANY NEW DRIVER will only make around 35,000 no matter where you work. I have started the pre employment with TMC. I am very anxious to get this ball rolling. After being in a field for over 23 years, I've hit burn out a long time ago. Does anybody have "tips" on how to speed up the process of employement? My criminal and mvr are spotless!!! This is gonna sound strange, but, if I cant drive for TMC then I dont want to drive!
