I have been driving for the past three years for Prime. Decided that I needed more steady pay and was tired of being in the hole. I have nothing bad to say about Prime at all, just needed a change.
Anyway, I was approved by Schneider and am scheduled to report for orientation on Sunday in Atlanta. I live here, so that will make it easier on me. I won't have to take another physical since I just had a DOT and have my long form as well as my DOT card already, so that's a relief off of me. The one thing that I HAVE to get, and it is in the mail to me, is my sleep apnea study that I did. I should have that by Thursday of this week and be good to go.
Going to be weird doing things different than Im used to doing for the past three years. Im ready to drive a Pumpkin, though. Read a LOT of good things (and some bad, but what large company is perfect?), talked to a few drivers, and I think I am making the right decision.
I do have a question or two...
do you pumpkin drivers do a lot of NYC deliveries? In the city? I HATE driving in the city...I will do it, but I despise it.
Are you guys on e-logs yet, or still doing paper? I really like E-logs. Im always running legal, even on paper, but e-logs make it so much easier.
APU's? Ive read somewhere that Schneider doesn't use them. How do you power your computer, etc. without one?
Do you guys use comdata cards for fuel, etc? Do you have the opportunity to get cash advances if you need it while out? I mean, say I am broke on Tuesday and dont get paid til Friday...will they put money on your card (50-75 bucks or so) to get you through the week, taking it out of that weeks check?
Where do you usually fuel? Pilot, Flying J, TA, Loves? Or is it split among them all?
Supposed to start in Atlanta on Sunday...

ok NYC is as needed but not usually depends if your Regional, System or whatever usually drop in Jersey and they have daycabs into city but you may get one. Yes 100% elogs its the mcp200 easy and not as bad as other's think. No Apu's bunk heater's for winter and if you are a cpap user they will install a inverter otherwise it's a plug in inverter they don't allow inverter's to be installed otherwise. welcome aboard.

just curious how old are you?
do you have a hazmat endorsement..
I drive for a company out of Marietta and they have good pay newer trucks and arent castrated to 64 they let you run 72mph and all equipment is WELL maintained...
I felt very lucky to find them and they couldnt give a rats A___- about sleep apnea if it aint on the DOT long form no worries....
if interested let me know -
Im interested in what you are speaking of. Can you email me at ra0828 at me dot com? Tell me a bit about what you have going on. Im interested!

64? #### that is light speed compared to Schneiders 60mph

I dont mind 60. As a lease operator at Prime, we were at 68, but I never ran faster than 57. Having to pay for fuel SUCKED! So, I'm used to running under 60.

SNI trucks run 65....your fat bonus is given to you if you run 60*....its up to you.
*along with other variables -
I am now all set...Had to retake a physical today and had to spend all day running around getting paperwork that SNI needed but never told me about, but I got it all done today and am ready to start on Sunday!
