Attention all company drivers!!!

The reason for this is many customers will not let pets on their property .

 

I have a pet, but in no way would i bring them along, got enough to worry about when driving, not to mention, she is a 100lb Pure bred German Shepherd lol I get why people would want to bring their dog around, but I don't think it's fair to the dog in all honesty. Should have a yard to run in, see a vet regularly. if you take care of your pet, they do require some maintenance. to each their own i guess

 

We've got two that love to ride. I don't take them on the truck, for obvious reasons.

But you say the word "ride". Mine are sitting at the door when you get there.

 

Again this is a classic example of insurance companies sticking there nose where it don't belong. My golden retriever has been riding with me since he was a pup he loves it he gets to piss on alot of tree's if you think about of he has a huge territory. Lmfao if I left him at home he'd bite the #### Outa me when I got back.I don't care what y'all do but don't stick your busy body nose in my business. Hope your day is well.

Well, I think there ought to be a nationwide- plus Canada type of DAC created like someone has created for drivers. This way the world could see just how good they preform. This site is the next best thing and I think every company ought to be aware that they are being watched and reported.

By the way, I belive that a DAC can only legally report the dates that a driver worked for a company and thats all. I read all kinds of stories about how a driver was dismissed, the number of accidents they had, refusal of a load etc on a DAC. Why do they get away with this? Well, it is because DAC is a non-governmental agency. Thats right, created by a person-not legal govenment information.

What drivers need is one single agency to stand up against the women who have invoked some of the driving policies on log books, and (not picking on all women but do some research and you will find about a womens organization who lobbied congress) other individuals who have a personal vendetta agaist trucks, and those politicians who only want to appease voters. All the national trucking agencies are too eager to settle with the feds over log books, speeds, and other trucker priviliages.

I would like to see every driver in America have to go through a physical every 2 years and take a drug test just like a trucker, and a full driver test on car brakes and ememgency situations-just like truckers before they get a license. That includes grandma, grandpa-everyone. Then there would be screaming across North America-'foul play' why should we have to take a drug test. Am I not right?

Lastly, I see many companies offering around 30 cents a mile-what? I was making 30 cents a mile back in 1993 with Carretta. This means in 18 years there has been a minimal increase in wages. Even 40 cents for 18 years is nothing. UPS is an exception that pays company divers 75 cents a mile. What is wrong here?

 

I agree completely, discrimination against trucks and trucking as a hole has gone unchallenged for to long. I have to meet certain requirements to drive a commercial vehicle on the nations highways, it definitely should apply to all driver regardless of age gender or race. Driving is a recreational or personal vehicles is considered a privilege not a right. Nut I say onto you what's it called when driving is your source of income feeding yourself and the family is not a privilege its a must do. Lobbies are far to involved with regulations that only splurge to a business vehicle and refuse to include the private sectors of the growing controversy. I say require all drivers to undergo the some qualifications as the professional drive.

 

I am a dog lover and have a Cairn Terrier. My first truck out of school was a Volvo that had been operated by a driver that traveled with a dog. The driver was terminated by the company for safety reasons and I was assigned the truck when I started. From the smell of the truck it was obvious that the driver did not stop to take care of the dogs needs nearly enough as the truck smelled like dog urine. The hotter it got the worse it smelled. The company said they cleaned the truck before assigning to me; maybe, but doubtful. I did clean the truck with assistance from my wife; 3 times in first week. I cleaned the truck with several types of cleaners, scrub brushes, and deodorizers; no luck, still smelled. The company replaced the seats, the mattress, and privacy curtains; still smelled. No other truck ever seemed available and I finally replace the company. That is another reason many companies do not allow dogs on trucks; some drivers, not most, let their dogs soil the trucks. In addition, there are many drivers that are allergic to animals and those drivers may be assigned a truck after a pet owner has had it which may result in a health hazard to the effected driver.

 

The problems lies in the fact that there is not a market for a company DAC. Drivers would not subscribe to a service to get the inside scoop on a company, not too mention most of the rants would be tossed out because you can bet that a company would actually dispute the information. It's just not a realistic idea, if you want to warn others that's great, use the internet, make clear and concise statement as to why a company is not so great.

 

this is the company to stay away from. by far the worst i have driven for in 23 years. no miles, short loads, no layover pay on sunday.
