Check out their website for more info.

The website also says they hire company drivers.

I drove for the Oakleys back in the early to mid 90's.

It is/was predominantly company driver based with about 300 tractors & a few OO's.

At one time, when the Dad was running the show, it was a good outfit to run for. He gave a #### about his drivers because he recognized that if it weren't for his drivers, he wouldn't be near as wealthy as he is today.

His sons never much liked drivers in general & changed the company into something non-friendly to drivers.

Beware of the head of HR.
She attempts to rewrite the constitution at every opportunity. This woman has burned(read screwed) so many drivers out of their rightful monies that she should be picked up for prostitution.

She sits on the states' Workmans Comp Ins board & has used that power to burn many people, my ex-wife/co-driver included. She just got thru nailing a friend of mine who survived an accident that included breaking his back in a few places. She saw to it that he lost his W/C monies & his job with them. The accident was not preventable nor his fault. My ex-wife's accident resulted in the same & she suffered somewhat lesser injuries.

The sons, use every legal trick in the book to keep from paying out anything that should rightfully be paid to the drivers. They have the money & connections in the state to stall or ignore just about anything litigous.

It wasn't long ago where someone literally flew an ultralight overhead & shot several times thru the roof of this womans office. The feds & cops were all in there using fiberglass rods to determine the angles of shots.

That's how much this woman & this company have burned their people.

The equipment used to be ok but then at 66mph, what can you break?

They have a few offices around the state & may still have one or two around the country. They used to have one in Laredo,Tx & Campbelsville Ky. I think they opened a new one in Tampa to service Cargil there.

I know this is a negative & things might have changed in the recent past. I doubt it though.

They never paid well despite being the better paying tanker outfits in Fl. You'd be much better off with none of the Fl tanker outfits. They all think they're doing you a favor at minumum wage.

I have nothing truly good to say about them & will warn anyone I can until or unless I see or hear differently about the company.

Does this go for Indian River Transport as well? I have talked to several of their drivers over the years and havent heard any bad from them, have been thinking lately about giving them a try, but just havent made the move yet.

I've been out of tankers for a few years, and I never worked for Oakley, but I used to see their drivers around the tank wash's while I was being cleaned. Most didn't have a lot of good things to say about the co. This was in the early to mid 90's. They had a small terminal in Col Oh then and they hauled everything from hazmat to food grade. Most complained about the pay and not getting home very often. Things may have changed since then, but I don't know.

I worked recently for Oakley for 6 months , would not go back for anything , poor maint. on the tractors , no loads and a lot of sitting for free , did 6 months , paid for about 3 , no loads no pay , but that may be everywhere right now but I have nothing good to say , Good luck.
