Welp, they don't hire from the Houston area :( I was really hoping they would, but I've faced this problem for a while now. :( :(

Hey Chop, I'm glad that you didn't give up and made the call I suggested, and you were able to get them to approve you at least by location. Now I hope that you get the full approval and head to orientation soon. Good Luck, I look forward to meeting you sometime around the terminal.

Sorry that it's been a few days since I've written about things, but ACT has been keeping me moving and when I've stopped for the night, i haven't had signal. Anyways, things have been going great. My truck rides and drives like a dream. Tho the truck is governed at 72, i set the cruise at 62 and am currently getting 7.8 mpg. If I can keep that up, I should be able to put a couple extra hundred bucks in my pocket every week. I'll post dome of my numbers once I get my settlement with a full week of running.

This week I started with a load out of Grand Prairie, TX taking that to Cape Girardeau, MO. From there I went to Boomington, MO to pick up a petsmart load going to Newman, GA. From there ran up to Toccoa, GA to pickup a very light load headed for Niles, IL. Not preplanned yet, but hoping I get one before I drop this load. Stay safe everyone.

As soon as I dropped my trailer in Niles, IL I recieved a load picking up in Ottawa, IL for a three drop in the Dallas area. It was a really good week, ended up with almost 3100 paid miles and I also had two hours of detention time for the week, and three paid stops, so I am pretty sure that this will be a nice settlement check on Friday.

As soon as i finished making my deliveries in the Dallas area, i recieved a message offering me two loads... A 45000 pound load out of Ashdown, AR going to Wisconsin, or a 2200 pound load out of Marshall, TX going to Kansas.... I chose the light load, and I'm getting great fuel economy. We'll see what's planned next after I drop this tomorrow.

If only I had more experience. They are just 50 miles from me and they sound like a good company.

That's awesome. Smart choice on the speed. As an o/o ur biggest expense is fuel. Its not always how much money u make but how much u save. Keep it up.

Well, I got my first settlement with a full weeks of miles on it, and I have to say that I am very impressed!! I ran 3077 paid miles last week, and my net pay was a little over $2034. This is after my payment, insurances, fuel, and my maintenance account has come out. That boils down to .66cpm profit last week!

This week I have not run as many miles, 2324 to be exact, but with me driving my truck much better I have gotten much better fuel mileage. After my payment, and all other expenses, my net should still be around $1300. I'm guessing that this will be about .56 cpm profit. These numbers are just a guess, I will have the hard numbers by next friday, and can post actual numbers then.

The reason that my miles were a little lower this week is because I had not done a 34 hour reset, so I was having to work with the hours that I had available. I am taking a reset this weekend so that I can run as hard as they will let me before I go home Friday so that I can spend Christmas with my wife and kids.

Merry Christmas all and I wish everyone a safe a prosperous New Year!

Looked at my settlement for last week, and I was a very good guess when I said it should be right about $1300, it was actually $1307 and some change. One thing that I really like about this company is that they do what they say. They told me that I would get home for Christmas and that is exactly what they did, I am home now and will be home till about the 27th.

I didn't run many miles this week, 1505 to be exact, but it is because of it being Christmas week and wanting me to get home on time. I can respect that, and I was actually worried that I might not have a check come next week, but after running my numbers and taking out all expenses, I will still have a $400- $500 check. I know that it don't sound like much, but it sure beats being in the hole, especially with only running 1500 miles! I plan on staying out the whole month of January, and should be able to make some nice checks running hard. All in all, I am very glad that I made the decision to come to ACT!
