When you guys went through your training with Stevens how often were you able to make more money(Ex. Unloading)? Or does that oppurtunity not come about very often?

Goes in spurts. But I'd say, to be safe, not very often.
It use to be more, but too many guys got greedy and charged too much.
Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered as the old saying goes.
So many companies now don't accept Stevens labor receipts.

Emulsified when you get a student do you lay down the rules for your truck the first day, or do you try to work them in and try to make the student relaxed the first couple of days?

I hammer him until he bleeds!
I have three rules the first day:
1- We're going to have fun.
2- When you step behind the seats (sleeper) leave your shoes up front. If I see your shoes, I know you're in the sleeper and in the truck. If I don't see them, you're outside. This way, no one gets left behind, accidently.
3- We're going to have fun.

Actually there are other rules that come out fairly soon, such as no eating while driving. No radio while driving (distractions). But I'd rather concentrate on what we're doing.
Of course all the Stevens rules apply.

I have posted before that a student would be very lucky to have someone like youself with 38 yrs experirence training them. I would love to follow posts from a trainer .

    Probably be pretty boring.
How many ways can I write about 'steering the tandems, not the trailer'?
Seriously, tho, each person has different needs and it's a trainer's responsibility to note those and help the student achieve success.
Much of what we do is observe and guide. The student is the one that does all the work.
Desire and repetition is the key to success.
We're just there to make sure they repeat the right thing!

(and have fun while doing it!)

    No Radio while driving?
I think I would of died of boredom before the end of the first couple days lol.

Seriously, I wouldnt have made it.

My first trainers rule on that was, whoever is driving picks what to listen to (within reason).

My second trainer played what he wanted unless he was asleep lol.
