I have been doing applications stating my MVR record is clean. I have an official print-out of my CDL and it states no traffic convictions or accidents in the past three years. The issue date is 10/28/2011. The problem is that I had traffic tickets on my license before getting my CDL. Will the trucking companyies want to know the issue date for my regular license as well to see what kind of driver I am? If so, I don't have that date. I am reluctant to go to these acceptance orientations not knowing if my MVR driving record will pass. I know the trucking companies want to see a three year record, but my CDL was issued on 10/28/2011. My CDL and my class D license has the same number. Is there any way the companies can go back and get my whole driving record?

Yes, they will check all licenses that you have held. Just because you upgraded your license to a CDL does not mean that the violations on your class D license disappears, however, only speeding tickets for more than 15 over and other major violations, like no insurance, following too close, reckless driving and the like will show on your MVR. At least that is the way it is in GA. Hope that helps.

Ok, so in this case I will need the issue date of both licenses. They both have the same number. Will I have to call my DMV to get my issue dates? I thought people could get any info just from your license number?

Calif. keeps all tickets on record for 7 years regardless the type of license you have. Of course each state is different so check with your home state on long they keep tickets on record.

Ok. I just keep getting accepted to trucking companies although they do a background check on me. Will everything be on my DAC? I have never driven for a company yet though. It just doesn't make sense as to what is on my official report. It states I have no traffic convictions or accidents in the past three years but it was issued on 10/28/2011. I don't know, maybe I'll just try my luck. If I get turned down, I'll know why.

Your license will always show the last time it was issued /renewed or replaced.

Order a copy of your drivers abstract available online from your state DMV.Everything you need to report will be on there.

I know Massachusetts keeps everything on your driving record when you
Have a CDL. Even stuff that you did before you had a CDL.
