Mmmm... We will get to our 99 by 1600... Appt. isn't until tomorrow AM... And they want to know if we're good with that? Why do you think we went dedicated? So we aren't sitting and twiddling our thumbs!! Now to see if they will let us drop and give us a new load...
-
Mmmm... Because we are on this dedicated run and she only has 10 trucks we won't be able to drop... Is this the same with all the dedicated fleets? Not able to drop if you get there early? A full 16 hours early? Grrr...
-
Like I told you on FB, if my 99 is a kraft facility I can drop it as early as I can get there. Most times I am preset outbound..
It is rare I have to wait for more than a couple hours for a load to pick up or to get unloaded. Just happens today is one of those rare times. This facility is installing some new robotic system and it's limited their available dock space. So I sit.. It's a 1069 mile load delivering Weds. so I can wait..
Lady K Thanks this. -
Thanks... Yeah, Klingon wants to give it a full month so see how things shake out... I just hope I can be that patient
-
Problem with new dedicated loads.. Nobody knows how productive they will actually be until they have been in existence for a while...
Kraft, Coors, Dole, McCain have all been around a while.. Even that Farmland run has a proven track record.. -
Thanks for the info, explained same way by fm. I actually started on the fleet Monday.

To the guy that was asking about Christmas VS Thanksgiving (sorry I am too lazy to go back and look up names):
I would definitely look into that... My DM sent a message out to all her drivers around the 1st of November saying that we had to get our 27s in for Nov and Dec by Nov 16th if we wanted to take off times in those months. Never did she mention picking one or the other and I requested off both holidays and had no problem. I dont know if this is a DM issue and they can just send out whatever they want (I would think that would be a poor way to do it) or if their is a company policy regarding this issue. Like I said something to look farther into.
To the guy asking about the CA wind flip:
I saw the truck and trailer in Fontana today and talked to another driver who was real close behind him when it happened. His truck was lifted up onto just the passenger side tires and slammed back down on all tires blowing all his shocks out on the drivers side. I guess the Freightliner has the circuit board right above a shock and it shoved the shock up into the board messing up all kinds of stuff.
To the guy asking about the layover pay:
Its $40. The manual does say $50 but when I first had a layover I sent in my request @ $50 a day and my DM changed it and corrected me. This being said shoot for 3 days and if they think its 2 they will just change it, not deny it completely.
Been away awhile...driving you know... Its part of the job. Anyway it was good to check back in and I should do this more often -
Hang in there LadyK! Klingon is right on the money! Give it a little while, especially dedicated. You are going to find yourselves more on a schedule and you'll know when you can diddle around and when you have to hustle. There will be downtime simply because there aren't any other drivers who will just pick up and deliver your load due to the dedicated customers. Plus if its a new dedicated run then you can maybe expect to pick up some other runs once the schedule gets more panned out. Once your DM realizes you can hit this place, that place and be back to a certain other place and then still have time to fit in another run, they may try to look for something to squeeze in and fill in that time. Till then enjoy the more steady pay. During your downtime take sometime to breathe and love what you are doing.

I'm new here and stumbled upon this thread. I am not a trucker, my husband is but I have a question. My husband is a new, very new, solo company driver for Central. Is it normal to average only 1600 miles a week? After they take out taxes, health insurance, etc. he is making less than during driver training. Does he need a new driver mgr? Help me understand please. I appreciate it.
