Ranger PPR-RBT1
I bought one of these "New" off eBay. And lot's of luck trying to find one now! Retail Price is $129.00 (NEW)
Someone on another Forum emailed me asking where I found mine, so I went back to eBay to see if there were any more listed, with no luck. I even checked out every dealer listed on Ranger's Web page, also with no luck...Flying J's web site says their sold-out also...Right now I'm thinking they may not even suppose to be in the Country yet other wise they should be easier to find. Or possibly has not yet been FCC Approved.
I sent mine to a guy that does Tune ups for Davemade in AZ, and the board is something totally new and about the only thing he could figure out was how to lower or raise the DK...Couldn't put a Variable on the radio because of a circuit board behind the switches and knobs...
All and all, it's a neat radio because of the Blue Tooth fetcher on it...The radio doesn't have a whole lot of swing to it, but does decent when ran with a AMP. The Blue Tooth however is awesome. The few calls I have made, and got while using it, everyone said I sounded better on the Blue Tooth, than I do just using my cell phone! And since when receiving a call the caller is broad casted threw the radios speaker (or external speaker if you have one hooked up) the call is loud enough you can hear the caller clearly, even with allot of back ground noise. Plus, the sound level of the call can be adjusted up or down by a couple of buttons just for the blue-tooth.
You also have a separate little boom-type Mic with a clip that you use for the blue-tooth which plugs into the radio right next to the CB Mic jack on the front of the radio, so you can use whatever after market CB Mic you want for the radio (unlike the Cobra 29 Blue Tooth radio)
The rest of the radio operates and sounds like every other Ranger CB.
The only thing I'm not crazy about, is where they put the ON/OFF Volume Control Knob, which is in the middle of the radio, instead of being the first knob...I keep finding myself adjusting the Mic Gain instead of the Volume, since it's the first knob.
Also the radio has a Talk Back knob which sounds better than the Talk Back on my Galaxy's.
It also has a 5 position dimmer button, and a instant channel 19 switch instead of channel 9.(which makes more since now days)
The radio may not be for everyone, but if your like me and spend allot of time in your truck on business, it's a great idea to have the blue tooth in the radio...
If you get a phone call, and have the radio on at the time, it will automatically go from CB Mode, to Cell Phone Mode, and ring, then you just push a button to answer the call, and push again to hang up! Once you hang up, the radio returns to CB Mode...
Oh, and whoever is calling, their Caller ID will scroll across the LED display, then stop...Then you can decide whether or not you want to pick-up...
But again..Lot's of luck trying to find one....If you find one New for sale, please post "WHERE!" because I know two people looking for one...
There is a "Used" one on eBay right now, but is missing the blue tooth mic, and bracket...
New from Ranger "Blue-Tooth"

JJD This rumor goin around is this basically same inside as Ranger 127 with alot more features. What is your showing output wise ?
BTW Had a friend that talked to Kale late last week on the phone for quite awhile, he seems to be doing well and extremely busy also.. -
Yeah, Kale is busier than a one legged man in a butt-kicking contest right now!
I also herd it had the same board as the 127, but the Tech I sent it to try and put a variable in, said it was different...It also has a button battery inside, which I guess is for the clock, so it doesn't loose it's memory when turned off.
After using the radio for a couple of days, I came to a quick conclusion that the receive on this radio totally sucks! Too much white noise, and unless the person your talking to you is real close, everyone else sounds garbled, like the radio is off frequency (which it maybe)
Good thing is, every radio-check, everyone says it's loud, and clear...The Blue Tooth fetcher works better than I had anticipated, and there is no problems with the radio seeking-up to the cell phone...That part works like a charm.
I'm not going to give up on the radio just yet, first chance I get I'm going to take it to a local shop and see if they can do anything with the receive and clean up some of the noise...
The radio dose not have much swing at all...I have it set at a 3w DK, and it swings to maybe 5w (Bird) So not much there. When I got it, the DK was set at 6w's and no swing...
Still a cool radio, but if I can't get some of the noise level down, and the receive cleaned up some, it maybe going back to eBay...
Side note...I know a guy that has the Cobra 29 Blue-Tooth, and it sounds just like every other Cobra 29, and the Blue-Tooth also works perfect...Just no "CallerID" and your stuck using the factory Mic, but it is a Noise Canceling Mic. -
Yep those Ranger's look nice definitely, better than the Ranger TLM-1 with the MP3 screen. Thanks for the 411 on the radio .. Yeah, I ran across that the other day poking around on eBay...I did see where they have lowered the price....and thanks, but no-thanks. I gave up on the one I have, after taking it to a couple different shops locally, they didn't get the radio to clean up much better than it was when I got it.
I still like the idea behind this radio, I just think Ranger needs to do a little more work on the "CB" part...The Blue Tooth part works great tho. Also answering the cell phone on the CB Radio takes a bit of getting use to. -
When you are using the bluetooth do callers ever comment on the echo and roger beep?
