So the general consensus is that ROEHL is a pretty good company. Personally, if my hubby makes .37 (or more) per mile and gets 2,000 miles that's a good week for us.
Right now he makes .40 but WEL only got him 1400 miles this week. We need at least 1800 to survive and this company isn't cutting it. I don't care if ROEHL's benefits suck or not. I just want to know that he'll get at least 2,000 miles a week, home when it's due, and no bull crap about a 1 yr physical not being good enough IF his BP happens to be 'high' that day due to stress/lack of sleep/etc.
Stay away from ROEHL!!

I'm not promising anything, but the dot physical is completely up to your doctor, not a company. And I have done pretty well here. That's all I'm saying cause we can't be positive on this thread without a miserable troll digitally beating us up.
notezbngrn71 Thanks this. -
I only have a 1 year phys. (not bp related) and its not a problem.
-
Well this could mean trouble tho for a guy with BP issues. This may DQ him during the prework screening.
-
That part is going to be fairly standard, if he has BP issues he should get them under control. Know you body, take care of it. Maybe consult a Dr to see what options will get you in the clear.

Oh, there is a troll here, that's for sure.Last edited: Dec 9, 2011

I have BP issues including "White Coat Syndrome." Roehl will only accept a one year certificate regardless of the regs. In my case my own doctor now does my physical and according to the regs he can issue a two year certification because he knows my history including pre-medication history. My doctor is a real MD with board certification and everything, but Roehl manage to make him so angry he spilled his coffee on my long form. What really got him going was that they consider a Chiropractor more qualified to give DOT physicals than an actual MD. In any case I don't know of any place that has major issues with a one year certification.
My BP is kept under 125/75 for a kidney condition and not for the DOT. So in short my doctor isn't concerned about the DOT nearly as much as my overall health. -
I got my 2 year and my BP has always been borderline...it can swing to the bad real quick...then the next day be perfectly normal...never understood it myself...

BP can take wild swings day to day, hour by hour and moment by moment. Just the stress of taking the test can raise it. In my case my BP would go up 30 points just by having it taken at the doctors. I learned some relaxation techniques that made the difference. In my case deep controlled breathing made the difference. Look it up on the Internet.

About crazy BP readings and White Coat Syndrome - you can ask your doctor if you could lay down on the examining table for about 5 minutes to relax (doctor/nurse can go elsewhere) and do some deep breathing like Preacher Man suggested. This can help tremendously, and isn't uncommon. I hope this helps somebody, someday
