Felony theft may restrict you a little,
even 30-40 years ago.......... -
You will get lots of pre-hires. Thing is you aren't really hired until after orientation, then training and they hand you your keys to your truck.

The felony record will be different for each company. You'll have to know if they'll take you or not. Some say never ,others say 10years and so on. So I don't think you can get a good answer to that problem and you'll have to find out on your own with the company you choose.
As far as pre-hires go anyone can get those. I wouldn't put much faith in them and never think you have a job because you got a pre-hire letter. Just consider all the mega carriers as pre-hire letters. Personally, I'd use then as paper to write down the name and address of a company I would like to go to. -
Have you driven (CMV) at all since your conviction? or are you starting from scratch?
