not that this is a shock or anything, just affirmed -
Thanks Gunz for the info, I am trying to narrow down what company to start out with, I have a list and am reading all that i can.
-
Yeah I heard that too. I'm really surprised this season, it seems like things just fell apart without Manning. I just hope we don't get a retirement announcement on the off season. Then we will have to bring Favre in to hold the fort until we can get things together. lol
-
LMAO, I highly doubt hes gonna retire. now, it will be interesting to see if irsay pays him 28 mil in march and activates his next 4 yrs of contract or not.. that part I'm not sure on. as for as farve, geeezzz it was worrying me when he went down to Mississippi this year..

Well hometime hometime. Gotta love it. Since going to RDTC I now appreciate home like never before! I have been running close to 3k a week since going solo. Nice!!! I have had some good days and bad. Still loving trucking though!!! Nothing gives you the independence that this job does, and I have done most of them. lol.
Roehl is a good company, though sometimes I think the planners are a bit nuts. lol. Roehl directions are a bit how gps systems act sometimes. Go south 3 miles, then go north 3 miles. My gps tells me to make uturns too. lol. Mostly I have good things to say about Roehl. Except for not getting home ontime this last trip out, things have been great.
I have been getting great miles, close to 3k each week. My truck runs pretty well, minus a few quirks, but what truck dosn't have them. I have an apu so I get to bring my microwave so I avoid truckstop food mostly. Bunk heater gets hot, too hot, but open a window a bit and problem solved.
I would highly reccomend Roehl as a starting point. Training is fantastic. Pay is fine for a begining truck driver. Hometime is good. Equipment is o.k. The rider/pet policy stinks. lol. My son is 6 years old and is dying to go for a ride but I can't bring him till he is 10. I would love to take fido along for companionship but alas, no pets allowed.
The only problem I see, long term, is hometime. I miss my kids. I am going to speak with someone about going 14/7 even though I live too far, according to Roehl, from a terminal. I could see staying long term with Roehl if I can get on a hometime fleet. I woulg go lease so I could bring fido, drive ungoverned, give my son a ride, etc.. but since I need family health isurance that isn't happening.
I am enjoying the hell out of the job of being a truck driver though!!!
Hey, if anyone is thinking of going to Roehl, PM me. We get bonus' for anyone that goes to Roehl and tells them I was the reason. I will give you my driver code to give the recruiter. If I get a bonus because you mentioned me, Steaks and beers are on me!!! -
So I am sitting in the driver's lounge in Appleton. Man this place is nice! The shower rooms are large. The washers and dryers are nicer than my own. The tv in the lounge is huge, and the leatther chairs are super comfy! I might have to move in. LOL.
So I finished my drops this morning in Galesville, WI. I am fairly close to Marshfield so I call my fm and ask if I am going to head there to get my truck worked on. She says she will call me right back, that probably will be going to Marshfield.
Well after sitting for like 45 mins on the side of the road I say the hell with it and head to Marshfield. The last time I was this close and needed work on my truck they had me sit for over 2 hrs and then finally headed my there. I wanted to get my trips scanned in by noon so I took off.
Well wouldnt ya know I get a load. When I heard the Qualcomm go off I was like oh know, please dont be the opposite direction. Luckily I got a relay load in Schofield, which is past Marshfield. So I lucked out! lol. Then they headed my to Appleton for some work on my truck.
So I dropped my trailer and got my truck being worked on. Got a bunk room for the night. Took a hot shower and just chowed down some pretty dammed good Chinese food.
I got a nice long run to NJ that delivers Monday morning. Two days of just driving. I love that! I hopefully get like 600 plus in tomorrow and leave a nice easy run for Sunday. That way I can watch the late game somewhere. Hopefully a good game will be on wherever I wind up.
Oh well. My laundry is dry. Time to fold. Not my favorite chore! lol.
Stay safe all!!!
