"Tel Tek Gauges" offer a digital pyro kit; everything you need, (gauge, wire, probe, etc) for a decent price, with lifetime warranty.
    Just Google their name.
NO, I do not work for them, just have used their products for quite a while, with no problems.

Open up a summmit or kegs catalog and pick out your favorite looking gauge see if they offer a pyro in that style and order it, that's what I did worked great and looked better also good prices too.

You can buy a peice of 1/4 pipe thread boss and mig weld in have done this several times its one wire with two small wires in it these go from gauge to sensor thats it. If you want to use lamp for it just tap into lighting for other gauges. Then you can dim and it will look factory.

Heck, you can put 3 or four pyros on your truck if you want! Not everything has be run through the computer.

DK how the pete dashes are but on our KW's and the mack, adding a gauge in a factory hole doesnt work without some extras efforts as its one large circuit board. The freightshaker just has individual gauges so its a cakewalk then.

Manifold/post turbo is up to you. I always prefer manifold temps, but most Big Truck mechanics/service people will be referring to post turbo temps when diagnosing issues so it may be easiest to stick with that.

The odds of breaking off a probe that was not damaged during install are slim. If you decide to install in manifold, wear some glasses and drill slow with the engine on high idle. DO NOT USE GREASE to hold the filings. Just collects all of them and sends them all through your turbo at once. Tap slowly. VERY slowly. you dont want to break one off in there. One turn in, two turns back, blow with some air, add lube. The second you get ####y with it is the second it breaks. Check fitment along the way, don't tap too shallow or too deep.

If doing the install after the turbo, buy a bung and weld it in. If you don't have a welder find somebody to do it for you. Way cheaper than buying a pipe from pete which i would never do to begin with.

If you buy an autometer kit they will come with a post turbo bung that is meant to be hose clamped around the pipe. Its tapered and seals that way. however the clamp is maybe 4". You could acomplish the same by taking a seal clamp and drilling a hole in it if you really can't find a welder. Most probe fittings are 1/8 or 1/4" NPT. If you get the autometer one they use a set screw to hold the probe in place inside the pipe. Other companies use a compression nut. Try to center the probe in the pipe.

You'll need keyed power for the gauge, a light source and ground. Then there will be the two wires for the probe itself as well. Most trucks will have an auxillary wire already up there and wired to a fuse.

Most gauges a 2 1/16". Pyros will run you between $100-200. If you are doing pre-turbo get a 0-1600* if doing post turbo 0-1000* will be enough.
