Yes that's what I was referring to the nitwits and the tarp is still loose enough to rip. I use that same techniche all the time, I actually have two straps about 10 foot long just for that.

This is why I hate 2 piece windshields and vertical wipers. The tops of the wipers freeze and the washer won't spray high enough to help.
That trailer needs some more crossmembers!

Chains are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. I don't even run states with chain laws but still carry them. They have saved me a few time from having to call a wrecker or get some one to pull me up a hill at a job site.

Why is it that you used a lumber tarp and not a steel? Or why not get a coil tarp?
