Looking forward to getting started with May Trucking, I believe I made a good choice... Going to be at this coming Tuesday's orientation, not sure where yet, but I imagine either Layton or maybe Oregon (Brooks?). Any last-minute advice for a noobie is always welcome and appreciated.

I'll pack light, and be sure to bring my coffee cup and laptop!

Lookin' forward to seeing you all out there! Be Safe...

Probably will be up there the following week. If you end up in Salem let me know how the hotel is etc.

The hotel is a standard run of the mill Rodeway Inn. Nothing to write home about, but at least it's clean and you get coffee and fruit loops in the morning for breakfast ;-)

You will be well fed during lunch every day during orientation.

    maldaddy Thanks this.

Success! Orientation was fairly straight-forward, and after meeting all requirements and passing all tests, I was hired. They had a trainer lined up for me right away, in fact we left Brooks at 4 am following my hiring. Trainer's a decent guy and thankfully doesn't snore! Was a little worried about that... We're picking up a load tomorrow morning in Selah, WA and running it down to Tracy, CA. He has a new Kenworth T700, pretty nice, wouldn't mind having one myself.

I'll be running 48 state reefer division. Actually looking forward to the weeks on the road and from what I hear, plenty of miles. So far I'm impressed with May's operation, seems like they've got it together. I've even heard rumors of new drivers getting into new trucks when they solo; I'll keep my fingers crossed...

I'll post and update at some point down the road. Be safe out there all...

tcmanuel, cuzzin it and maldaddy Thank this.

Good for you! Wouldn't hold my breath on getting a T700 though :) More like a 387 Pete with 450k miles.

Wait...I shouldn't assume that... justawheelholder was probably given a brand new Cascadia right out of orientation :)
