Back in the day, my dad drove OTR for a few different companies after Mt. St. Helens blew and he lost his truck driving job on the mountain. Nevertheless, he would stick his pork 'n beans, spaghetti O's, or "beans and wenies" in the engine compartment of a morning. By lunch time, it was toasty warm.

While I agree an inverter is best, most company drivers are not allowed to install inverters in the trucks. So for those drivers, 12v appliances are a viable option. I especially recommend the lunchbox oven/ portable stove/ Burton oven/ whatever you want to call it. I have figured out how to cook almost anything in mine. I say almost because I haven't figured out toast. I can get bread crunchy, but it's also dry as a bone :biggrin_25513:

if you have a butane or propane stove,go to wal-mart in the camping section in the cooking tools area, they have a little wire rack that fits over a burner and can make 4 pcs. of toast

I wonder if you have a butane torch for shrinking shrink wrap or un freezing break drums... Using that on a piece of toast... Just like crisping the sugar on a crem' brûlée - LOL!

    Me I have a toaster. :)

Ok inverters burn down trucks cause they aren't installed correctly. Fuse the hot lead between the battery and the chassis and you will not have a problem.. Of course this still doesn't appease these 'no inverter' companies... Luckily I don't work for one of them..

"Cheater bar, also known as a winch bar. About 4' long and solid metal."
And doubles as a good weapon in Chi-town truck stops. LOL!
