Still waiting on my trainer to pick me up. He had a couple doctors appointments this morning so we are getting a late start. Will be heading to Douglas, GA with our first load for the week. Had a hard time driving my work van this weekend. Kept turning wide and reaching for the high range gears! lol

Im in Richmond..and Epes has a terminal not too far from where i live but i never gave it a thought of applying...I looked on the website and I see nothing in my area has openings.. Im in my last week of truck driving school and looking for a great company to start with. I was considering TMC at the beginning of the year but havent thought about Epes until now.

Contact them NOW. They will go over your application in very fine detail and it takes a while. So if you are in your last week of training don't waste any more time. They seem to always have openings so don't worry about nothing specific being listed. OTR drivers go into their entire service area. It is a great company to work for so far.

Keep up the post Pops. I enjoy reading about new drivers coming in the industry and making it. Remember one thing, there will always be cloudy days in this business, the mark of a good driver is not just handling the truck, but handling outside situations the right way. Be safe in your travels, and keep us posted on your progress.

Back from the big road yesterday. Week 3 of otr training completed. Trainer said he would not hesitate to release me from training right now, he said I was ready to start delivering loads solo. But....Epes doesn't work that way. Got to finish the 6 week training process before they give you a truck. They want only the best on the road.
Travels this week was once again up and down the I 95 corridor. Started in south GA, went up thru SC, NC areas all the way up to NJ. From there back down into VA for loads and back to SC for the end of my week. 2014 miles total.
Ready to twist the throttle on my Hawg today instead of jamming gears on the 10 speed.
Can't post from the road, trainers truck not really set up for it but mine will be when I get my own truck.

Leaving this morning for Lakeland, FL. Trainer didn't get home until Sunday so that gave me an extra day at home this weekend. Hope we stay in the south this week....
