In my own opinion about jbs is this. a great company if your a beginner driver and looking to get experience. jbs is no different then the like os swift, jbhunt or scheinder, or any other learning carrier out there. i have sat alot once again for the last 2 weeks, and currently sitting now for 16hrs in worthington, mn. called the plant and they said to call back later around 3pm. so here we sit again and wait and wait. my gross for weekend of 12/15 will be about $1,894.40 gross pay for a 2 week pay cycle. thats about 900 a week, so for 900 a week, its nothing to get excited over. i can make 900 a week working locally. but im not a local kind of driver and im not satisfied with making 900 a week. so once i get my hometime, and as i sit here im looking for another job. and i hope to hear something soon. so i can give greeley my 2 week notice and bring them the truck in greely and just end this whole nightmare. Just cant make a decent living here, well what i think is a decent living. they say that theres a lack of drivers, i say its not a lack of drivers its a lack of PAY. before the economy went bust i was making .44/mile and getting paid hourly for anything i had to sit and wait for. so yea i went a little backwards, but a job was better then having no job. and yes i will admit that i didnt know how these meat plants work. and part of my decision to come to jbs was that we had our own plants, so i was thinking we would always be busy driving. i dont agree with the first 4 hrs doing that for free, and i dont agree with the 2 week pay cycle. because if you have a bad 2 week cycle for miles it takes a month to get out of that hole. if jbs went to a weekly pay i think it would help some. and that too was another reason too why i came here, was told that jbs was considering about going to a weekly pay. and from what i see i dont think thats going to happen. so with that its time for me to move on. i dont have a issue with doing long hard hours and driving, but i refuse to sit and sit and sit and wait and wait for free. i will stand behind what i say and jbs is a great company if you need a carrier to get your experience. yes they have really affordable benefits, and nice trucks, and trailers(for the most part) on the trailer side. but the pay is lacking for the experienced drivers. your max rate is .40 per mile. im sure someone will now come on here and want to argue with me on this, but i just call it for what i see. im a straight shooter and dont believe in sugar coating anything. after all thats the point of this internet forum. so people can voice there opinion rather it be good or bad.

I do understand the policies of JBS. Also I have not until now had a problem with the washout. But I have had problems with reimbursement for the past 3 months. I have also had a meeting with the director of hr with payroll. They found then the items I was claiming they didn't pay me. But ow right after that meeting to have 3 other items not paid is past a oversight. It gets very annoying when every pay check is shorted and it seems that when you tell them you have to justify every items. " and why did you get a cat scale?","and why did breakdown want you to the break drums washed out?". None of the should be a question and you shouldn't have to fight to get that money back. I shouldn't have to have meetings just for them to see there mistakes. Yes JBS can be a good company but for now the bad way over that the few good anyone can talk about on here.

9.00dollars???? I have the paperwork that show this pay was short 27.05. Ya not a lot for others who is not worried about feeding there kids and paying rent. Also if you have looked into it how about sending me a MSG on the Qualcomm letting me know. Ya I sent me Meg's but I got none in return. WHICH WAS THE POINT OF THE MEETING. I see you have time to respond on here. Also if reading here is what you are using to better the driver then do it. I gave been setting here for months reading the comment and yet. Nothing has changed with in JBS. yes I know I am on my way out. Yes I know posting here that the office will make my last days as rough as they can but also know I watch my pay like a hawk. Anything missing I will ask about to be paid. I also have every hard copy of the trips I have did to back up what I claim. As for me I will not lie to another driver who ask about JBS. Be on the look out for other companies calling to check on employment and remember the Colorado law when it comes to it.

Tanker....When you get past the Drop Dead time by more than 4 hours are they paying you detention??? .40 cents/mile is the top of the pay scale? They don't give a .01 raise for every year of service???

I have 1 question for you Doc. How is it that you are a driver yet you know the details of a closed door meeting that I had and with who? How is it you are going to try and make things better when if fact yourself are a driver? Who is it in the office you are seeing and having these talks with that should not even be talked about? Or is it that you are in the office yourself and not a driver? Just a few questions that I thought about then i was thinking on how you knew what was going on in the closed door meeting I have and what was talked about.

But also as a little note. When you work for a company you get paid for that work. I dont make that much to start off with and yes i do have bills to pay and a family to take care of. $9.00 may be noting to you sir but to us little people it is something that adds up in the long run. Let just say $9.00 a pay check was missing. That is $252.00 at the end of the year. Is that still nothing to fight for? As for me if I work for it I get paid for it. There is no too little not to worry about. JBS makes millions I dont so that $9.00 is something I will fight for. I do my job. I make my appointment early. Havent been late yet. I follow the policies turn in my paperwork. Make sure that my truck is in service before it is due. Is it not that we are expected to do are jobs as driver? If so when why is it wrong for a driver to expect the office to do theres?

The only way things will change is if the problems are brought up. Every time there is a mistake or problem not just the first time. From what I can see and why I came here is that everyone needs to know so everyone can check and bring it up when they see the mistake. Just think if every driver and the $9.00 a paycheck missing for a year. How much money JBS would have over the money they made. Do you think they would look into it to see where it came from? I am for one that dont think so.

As for you super-trucker or desk jockey which ever it may be. I would like to know.

anything after the first 4 hours is paid. but heres the issue, i got empty yesterday in eagan, mn was told to deadhead to worthington, mn 166 miles away. got here last night and here i sit and wait with ZERO pay. the drop time is 8pm tonight. so 4 hours after that i can be paid, but what about all this time inbetween? i get nadda. and yes .40 is top pay you get nothing once you reach .40/mile

I think a lot of drivers see the meat plants and think the same thing. I am for one that did. Everything you posted here is right on the money. But to add the communication the office has well their isn't any that I can see. But yes JBS can be a better company if they are willing to take the steps to do so. I just dont see them doing it.
