if i remember when this happened correctly the semi couldnt do anything about it. he was going slow or stopped because they were coming into a construction zone. so id say the semi driver was more worried about was going on in front of him than behind him so to say for him to take corrective action to avoid it isnt the right thing to say.

Kalh, you need to work on reading sarcasm aimed at the CSA points. Even though the semi was not at fault in any way, form, or fashion this will still tarnish his record.

    Uh...No....Unless DOT decided to do a L1 on him....Which I doubt occurred...

His insurance premium may increase....CSA scores only increase on an inspection based on deficiencies .....

If you have not read the article, the NTSB said after a review of this accident that all comercial trucks should have EOBR and Monitors/recorders to record movement etc as the truck drives down the highway. now Why? a truck had nothing to do with this...

Hold on to your hat and breathe......
The NTSB can only make suggestions to DOT....They cannot make any rules or write regs......

Let them finish the investigation....Odds are...The driver will be found Not-At-Fault.....

One thing....If that rig had an EOBR and cameras....Both could exonerate the driver of any wrong doing.......

I think what pisses most of us off so much WCP is the fact they even have the audacity to throw a shadow of suspicion on the only innocent party in the incident.

    Yeah...So.....

It's procedure in any accident involving a rig and 4-Wheelers....

The log book is usually checked.....

One huge mistake the Austin PD made after that cab driver hit my trailer was not to ask for my log book.....Not saying my logs were off...But that was the first time I have seen a cop overlook accident procedures....

I took over 40 shots of the scene.....My rig.......The cab.....and the street....From all the possible angles....

The cop even put down in his report the cabbie in his opinion, was 100% at fault for hitting my wagon.....

Of course my insurance company wimped out and settled.....:biggrin_25516:

There lies our issue. Truckers and pitbulls, guilty until proven innocent. Then put them down anyways.
