Finishing CDL driver training 12/13 and starting with the pumpkin team that Saturday Dec 17th. So far I'm fairly excited. Anyone else have the same start date and place?
By the way, my name's Jason.

Well tomorrow I drive up to Green Bay to start my orientation Saturday morning. I'm excited to get this career started.
I'll be posting updates in the evenings to explain the daily experiences I encounter. Hopefully it'll be helpful to some.

Sorry, been real busy! I'm on day 3 and its going well besides the information overload.
1st day it was 12 hrs and a lot of paperwork for intial employment and logging.
2nd day was only 8hrs and consisted of computer tests, physical, and simulators. The sims were fun, especially hitting the deer. :)
Today is the 3rd day and so far this morning its been trip planning.
Breaks almost over I'll post more.tonight.
I definitely look forward to the pool.and jacuzzi at the hotel!

You should also have a homework exercise tonight that helps with downshift speeds and a gear/speed match. Found that one to be very useful.

Little tip. Pay close , close attention to how the engine sounds at shifting marks. I found myself over-revving on up shifts.

A tip for those who don't know a general rule on shifting is to match your speed to proper gear, and how do you do that well say 35 add 3 and 5 = 8 8th gear 25=7th 15=6th 45=9th 55=10th see how easy that is.LOL

    FANAT1C and mickeyrat Thank this.

It gives you the gear you should be in but it does nothing for the prm to get it in gear you need to develop the feel or sound that is required to get it in gear.
