You got that right. Lol! Definetly not the most pleasant part of a trip up there. I never seem to catch a break when I go through there. It is always something that causes it to get gridlocked.

Okay, now I'm WAS thinking about Roehl it was very high on my list called today and they told me that a recruiter would get back with me ASAP, Terry somebody. Like you I have everything (endorsements) and my passport in hand. But now I hear very little hazmat going on at Roehl and this three weeks sounds like a killer this time of the year. I live in Chicago, I want to go south to train not north. Good luck to you tell me what company you finally decide to go with, I graduate in two weeks.

you will probably get called later today or monday once they look over everything...we have a yard in gary.....Maybe you can be our Chicago guy that won't get stuck under bridges LOL...
-
being in Illinois it will be Alice

Question for you, I'm thinking of signing on with Roehl. I've noticed that the back of their van trailers have an 800# to call along with what I think is the trailer number for people to call in any "unsafe" driving. Has this ever been an issue for you with people calling unwarranted stuff in? This kinda rubs me in the wrong way but I don't want it to be an issue if it's not.

Define "unwarranted " . That's at the discretion of who calls in and the safety department . Lack of an 800 number won't stop the calls .Many complainers will look up the company website or the web address may even be on the truck . If you have an EOBR and they get a complaint about speeding it's easy to verify .

not really, i have never had a negative call in, but quite a few "atta boy" call ins

I understand the reason for putting the call in number on the trailer. If I owned the company I'd probably do the same thing. If a drivers doing something that's dangerous to others they deserve the call in. I was more concerned about someone calling in for no real reason other than he couldn't get around me in traffic or just wanting to pass on his bad day to someone else. Curious as to how the culture was at Roehl if they got a call like that...is it an automatic assumption that the driver is at fault, or do they check it out with the driver first?
-
you leave a msg... what they do is wait to return the call... for the caller to cool off... take the info and attempt to verify it.. alot then they ASK the driver about it...
-
they understnd there are alot of just plain nasty people out there and safety trolls through them looking for the REAL safety issues
almostthere Thanks this.
