Aaaah. Now I'm understanding. Yes. You are seeing the "Pay as you go" promotion. That is a partnership venture with Dish Network to cross-promote the two companies. Both Dish and DirectTV are starting to embrace the mobile satellite community (i.e. truckers, RV'ers, tailgators, campers, hunters) and are offering plans for those who don't have service at their house now. You can also turn that service off and on now any only pay for months when you are using it. They also now have "roaming home" channel packages where you can get your home networks (ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS) even when you are thousands of miles away from home.

 

I had the dish service last year before they come out with the pay as you go, canceled because I had to call them everytime I wanted to use it. They said it was because I was only using it once a month. Which is true but I still shouldn't have to call in and have them send a ping. Now they want me to pay a cancelation fee.

 

I used to work for them and they will collect that fee. be careful decent company to work for, but they are brutal when it comes to money.

 

Old thread.... Looking at purchasing the "Tailgater" for my truck and wonder if anyone has mounted one permantley? Don't really want to get out of the truck and mess around to watch the boob tube!

 

I see a lot of them permanently mounted.

The Tailgater is the vuqube with Dish's label. I worked for Dish when it came out I actually got to use it before it was released. its nice, but kind of pricey

 

i have the vucube for 3 years now, i wont leave the house without it now, i have direct tv, takes about 5 min to get signal, when i park i use my gps to get the zip code where i'm parked enter that on my Tv, push the buttons on the VuCube remote and tada watching Tv!

 

When do you think they will come out with a $99.00 version?

 

yeah right I doubt anytime soon.
