Laredo its normal to sit a few days, Houston has it moments of layover. Nothing really out of the ordinary at this time of the year, expected. I sat in El Paso for a few days last week, today went in and the terminal was empty of trailers and trucks got load asap.

Hit Houston last Tuesday ... had 3 load offerings. Got a quick 400 mile shot to finish the week, then a 2400 back up to start this week.

Check the Landstar loadboard and ITS if you're an approved carrier. Several loads down there to get you out.

I just left a six figure Sales Management salary and am looking at Swift. Big cut in pay of course, but no more ties, suits, and having to fire good people on a monthly basis.

Since I was a kid, all my hero's have been truckers, the modern day Cowboys. Ride on and be safe out there. One of you may end up being my trainer...

So Swift planners can get brokered Landstar freight? Many Swift drivers don't have the required 1 year OTR to work at LS.

Took me 2 hours and I just snagged a load out of OKC which plans out of Laredo..
sitting 2 days in texas is really not that bad, talk to me when yer sitting @ Sams Club parking lot for 65hrs only to get a 326mi run... could be worse, you could be asking people if they want to super size their order for $1 more..

With Swift, arrival on Friday afternoon in Laredo=weekend off in Laredo.

Try and force them to get you a back haul before accepting a load there.
