Hey Vegaspainter, I recently got hired in Victoria for cement, oil field. I'm ganna take issue with the Victoria statement, as you of all people know, a town can become a city over night. The last city I lived in, in northern Los Angeles had a population of 60k 15 years ago and now, 300K+, sold my HOMES and moved to Austin. That equals $$$ when you have a house and savings. Victoria ISN'T that city but it does have GOWTH, and lots of it, IFFFF fracing isn't stopped. Did you even drive around in neighborhoods, did you rate their hospitals or their schools?? Did you get a report on what is planned for their infastructor??? Did you go to the mall and see the add on stores, the 2 brand new high schools and 3 elementory schools??? Just saying from a guy who bought low and SOLD HIGH!!! Of course this all depends on the Eagleford Shale and Buda Shale!!!

So i was gonna take it easy today cause ive been really running hard but then i remembered i was a workaholic and those plans went out the window lol.I left my hotel The La Quinta Inn and Suites New Braunfels by the way that hotel was awesome and only $75 !

I decided to go back to Kenady,tx cause i saw so much activity there and signs for drivers. On the way there i got a call from a lady from the hr dept of Thomas Petroleum we talked for awhile and she decided she liked the answers to her questions about me,plus im kinda personable on the phone(and in person). She wanted me to meet the head of there fracing crew in Corpus so she set it up for 4pm. On my way there from San Antonio I passed at least 3 companies along the interstate 37 that were hiring drivers.

I met Roy the head of operations and we talked about the job.Basically ill join the frac refueling crew theres a 10000 gallion tank on site and 2 bobtails and a 4 man crew(2 drivers and 2 helpers) refuel the frac machinery for 12 hours. Plus the sites are between 1-2 hours from Corpus so it works out to about 16 hrs a day with travel time.At least you get paid for all that time we will average about 70-80 hrs a week at $17 hr for drivers dunno about the helpers though. It sounds like wont have time for much but work and sleep during work days but ill get between $1500-$1700 a week big money right?

I will be following a driver around for the first 2 weeks to learn my duties and paperwork.Tomorrow i gotta do paperwork like background and whiz quizz the hr lady(kim) will be calling to set it up and roy said if thats all cool ill start on thursday.

Im bored of living in hotels and want to look for an apartment and after i do my hr stuff tomorrow ill start to check out places.Ive been talking to lots of locals about where to live(avoiding ghettos etc!) and i think ive got a good idea where to look.

The company is lookig to hire many more people so if your in the area looking you might want to check them out plus they are looking for drivers in a few other texas locations.Ill keep you guys updated as to how everthing gos with this but i gotta tell you im kinda excited!!!!

    Scott101 and Urban_Hillbilly81 Thank this.
