I have approval from both companies to attend orientation. Any comment would be welcome. First person only please. I live in Fresno and would be running the west for both. Thanks and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year![]()

I think Jbs has the better benefits of the two but would you rather pull a refer or smooth bore tank?
tankerman1974 Thanks this. -
both have a very detailed thread here i would ask there
-
i happen to agree with northbamatrucker here, jbs has better benefits and once you get experience, i think jbs also pays better per mile. so yea it comes down to smooth open bore tank or a reefer.

Thank you guys. Been driving 26 years. Been mostly CA,AZ,NV,UTandCO. Jobs are tough now so otr I go. Hauled used oil (baffled) for 10 years in 80's-90's.

With your experience, you should have your pick of numerous good outfits,

I worked for indian river for 1.5 yrs and now run dedicated regional for jbs. I went basically bankrupt with indian rvr. They do not pay detention what so ever, 50 or maybe its 40 $ after 48 hrs of sitting,no breakdown at all,and their insurance is a joke an higher than a cats arse! I left them and pulled milk for lone star milk transport and at .29 cpm I made 15k more in a year and was home every week. Now I make .45 cpm regional for jbs, they have their issues-mostly its the "reefer"part but they are a WAAAAY better Company than indian river in all aspects but the trucks. Indian river trks are loaded with built in fridges, jbs has installed 1500 watt inverters however. Being on the west coast I believe both companies have western regional, irt runs up an down I 5 from wash to La. Jbs runs the western states, you'll have to check with them directly for the details on all that as I just do pilgrims pride texas style. Oh yea and the smooth bore 7K gal tanks with single strength juice will hit so hard that it will knock a 32 ounce cup half full out of the cup holder in a peterbilt 386. Hope all that helped.

18kylebuschfan gave a good overview.
I ran west coast for IRT and sat a minimum of 20 hours a week unpaid at customers and tank washes. I found that to be too much. Also maximum miles of 24-2600 miles a week on west coast. At the mercy of tropicana corporation.
just my view -
Hello, im cruising through the truckers forum today, because Im wanting to know more about lone star milk. the searh brought me to your comment. I used to drive for indian river, and actually I loved it. i took a break from it, and right now im doing show hauling, hauling stage equipment for Jason Aldean. Having fun, but not sure if it is my thing. I again am looking at the possibilities of owning my truck in the future........i know i know......i should probably shoot myself first lol. Indian river has no o/o and no rider program, i think thats the worst......so anyway I am curiouse about lonestar, and i am not finding too much info on them any info you could give me I sure would appreciate...thanks
