yes, they have a yard in minot, had a interview scheduled with them but cancelled for nabors, texas.

 

i wouldnt go try for an apartment just yet, make sure you like the job or company first and give it some time, i think its the smart thing to do, give it a few months. You'd be surprised how things can change night and day for you at a company, it takes a few months to get the program down. You get an apartment and all of a sudden loathe the job, the attitudes or whatever, then you got to break a lease and you can get hosed.

Dont be in a hurry in the oil field, leave yourself some easy escape routes so you can transition to another job smoothly if need be......and i guarentee just about most companies out there is going to have a hidden curve ball thrown at you that might not sit well with you.

Not trying to be negative, just realistic and prudent.....remember, you have plenty of time and choices out here.

Try to broker with motels on long term rates.

 

All you guys gotta do is drive up to North Dakota, there are signs everywhere on the side of the road for Oil Field CDL drivers. It is boom time up here, jobs everywhere and people sleeping in cars and back of trucks freezing until they get their first check.

My neighbor drove over from Boise to check it out, came home a month later for two weeks off. He is making $2,500 a week, 80 hours per week, but there are other jobs with less hours. He works three weeks, takes a week off, works four weeks, takes two off and starts over.
Also check out Craig's list North Dakota under transportation. North Dakota is desperate for workers because unlike Texas, hardly anyone lives there.

 

Awesome! Congrats dude! I am going to see my folks in Mission tomorrow for christmas and i'll be stopping in those cities along the way. You made it look pretty easy. That is pretty good pay for a new driver, congrats again!
