Ya know Craig, I don't try to compare apples to oranges, and I never did say that everyone was treated this way either. I am sure that you and your wife do make out very well with them.
If you do not want to listen to what I have to say then change the channel my friend. Last I knew of, this was a free country. USX will treat you a lot differently then what a solo would.
As for looking in a trailer, what is in that trailer is really none of my business. Yes my first run for a Solo and I had and still have the original BOL with a person name on it that says the trailer was loaded by XXXX. The trailer also had a seal, I have the number, and the same seal number is on the BOL.

after all what did usx do wrong...? you got the bol and you got the seal you hooked the trailer and you sealed it WITHOUT looking inside first. yes the shipper f'ed up big time but you as a professional truck driver should have caught it by doing you job.
you didn't do your job and you think usx should pay you for driving a mt trailer 500 miles....? you don't have a leg to stand on.... if the trailer had been pre sealed when you hooked it them you would be ok but it wasn't. so it's on yoususiq Thanks this. -
Flood - it was pre loaded. This was a drop and hook. Where is USX wrong, USX is trying to charge me 500 miles out of route at 1 dollar a mile. Maybe I should have opened the doors of the trailer to look, but I didn't. As I said, I figured what was in there was none of my business. Maybe you and some other that are more experienced at driving a truck know to open the doors and look. Well I am sorry it was the first load from the first shipper.
I do not claim to be an expert, but I am honest and I have integrity in how I have always done my job with not only USX but for all of the rest of the people I have worked for in my life time. -
No point in beating a dead horse. At least you learned something. Always check to see what is in the trailer. We all learn something new regularly. Everyone has read the post about the loose lugnuts, now I'll bet everyone is checking those things physically as well as visually from now on. I'm betting that whoever you drive for in the future, you'll be checking the trailer.
I made the same mistake myself once picking up a trailer out of our yard. It was supposedly empty, I DH down to a shipper about 18 miles away and found it closed with a seal on it. My fault. Had to run back up to the yard and get another trailer. Thankfully, I didn't get in trouble for it, but I learned my lesson, thats for sure. -

I wish more people would tell the truth Renegade... Your statement is false, pure and simple.. When we have problems, we must always look to ourself first, to find the solution... Except what you did wrong, learn from it and move on... you have a choice, either go back to work for USXpress or find someone else. As far as the money you say they owe you, you have a choice there as well, you either let it go or take them to court. But coming on here and agreeing with a person that basically says this company treats drivers like ####, lies to them, and steals from them is in itself a lie. This company is not perfect and you will hear me state my opinions of their weaknesses often but, they are a good company with mounds of potential and if all your going to do is make statements like the one you made here, than you need to move on because that is a lie brother.susiq Thanks this. -
