i was livid one time, i hadnt been home in 4 months and they finally gave me a load headed that way and swapped it out i day before i got there.. and headed me back west.. (home was MI, swapped me in IN) so i finally get back to INDY and they gave me a fort wayne deliverie and deadheaded me 500 mi home...i was hot......

 

You are better off because they do not own you. If you read the blogs about CRE you will know lucky you are. I went to school with a guy and his wife had to have open heart surgery, they would not send him home.
Unless they have changed all the drivers instructors there in the last year, you had good instructors. If they will not release your papers talk to a lawyer, you are being punished for going home after you finished training and they HATE that. I know 2 people from my class that were told see-ya for going home without permission while waiting for a trainer. You are lucky, trust us.

 

Good Luck suing them in state court. UT makes a TON of money off CRE and the rules are totally stacked in CRE's favor. It took the Federal Court in UT to say that their practices are wrong.
I suspect that with the new CSA2010 and how insurance companies work you are going to have a hard time getting hired with a small company, but you should talk to them anyways. Also look in ND; the oil companies are in need of drivers. They have more flexibility in who they can hire.

 

I think Tennman might be right. Smaller compaines might not be able to hire him.
I have no idea about farmers or asphalt companies. You can always try carnival companies. Not the greatest pay but you WILL get to drive.

 

I just got a job application in the mail from the company I've been driving for since September. I'd say a company can hire anyone they want, there's nothing stopping them.

 

I went to CR England...I did not get my CDL there but a friend of mine did. His phase one trainer dropped him at hotel in Burn Harber and left him. Train hit post and wanted student to say he did it....My friend stated at the hotel for 1 week because he did not have the money to come home and CR England would not tell him when he was getting another trainer. After a week he came up with the money to take a bus 1/2 home. I drove to were he got by bus and picked him up and took him the rest of the way home....He had told CR England he was leaving...About 6 weeks after he got home he got a call from CR England wanting to know which hotel he was in...they had him another trainer. He did not go back.
