Me and my wife have our permits. My dad handed me three freightliners. But due to California's emissions laws they are not legal. We are look to run direct. I have been driving illegal and we ready to see to see Wat we qualifies for. I heard sum companies give us some kind of allowance for being married. we looked into going into school with a big company. But I went to prison five years ago.... So Wat should I do?

Trade the 3 for 1 NEW or newer truck and a trailer. Get the CDL. Get a little training and then if you have the money get your authority, insurances, tags and then forget driving for a lease company as you live in CA so just go to where the produce comes out of the ground and packed and where the meat is packed and find a few loads at a better price than using a broker OR just find a couple of brokers and get your loads that way.

You didn't say what the time was for but if a felon which most time usually is for then most companies won't hire you and if they do they will hire you but screw you with some BS story that they are doing you a favor hiring a criminal because no one else will, so take it or leave it!

OH because the trucks aren't up to CARB then move out of CA! AND stay away until you either bring the trucks up to CARB Compliant or just stay away from CA as that state is insane with their fines! Sell everything you own and see where that takes you!

BTW what year and type of Freightliners and engines are they??

Having your own equipment is a good thing and if you have an operating capital bank account with about $10,000 or better to cover you until the statements get paid you will be doing a lot better than most of the other drivers out here.

In what year and model of truck, there are after market firms gearing up to provide kits to make these engines compliant.

nobody's going to touch the "we have our permits" comment? along with the "we are running illegal?"

So they don't even have CDLs, and no one's going to comment on that?
