Gordon Trucking......wow

i got a friend that just got let go from gordon he says they are having Very Big problems with some of there customers, late deliveries, lack of trailers to supply there customers and those customer taking it out on the driver when they show up bobtailing to pick up a load then the driver getting #####ed out for not bringing a mty to swap for a loaded trailer??
i dont think that is the drivers fault?? do you??
then on one customer to keep there business gordon droped there price to .87cpm to keep them as a customer!! i know this one for a fact as my company was ask to bid on this lane from this customer.
yes you have to pay too keep thier trucks clean if really dirty you sit till you pay "there" cleaning service at thier terminals befor you get a good load! as for mile my friend said you have to beg, screem, and ##### to get any good mile but they always try to keep you at 400 to 450 mile a day or less!! then you are shorted miles on each trip you make zip code to zip code is what gordon pays i run the same lane my friend use to run and at some of the same customers and his trips were always 15 to 30 mile shorter then mine?? i do not think my odometer is off that much!!
the other thing he said that they are fond of is all those dam macro they keep demanding every day think thats a qualcomm thing?
then i guess they have cameras in there trucks? i seen one one the windshield! then the old dog new dog game the guys that get paid more sit more while the new drivers that they hire at .27 to .30 get runned ragged i think most of us have been there done that
but my friends most hated thing was trying to get anything fixed if you had to take the truck or trailer to a terminal to get it fixed when you were under a load they wrote you up for a service failure on the load you were on waiting a day or two for the equipment to get fixed!!
i know a few other guys that driver for gordon and a few that have told gordon to take there job and shove it ( sorry for them words but was they not in a song? )
i use to know Von Gordon before he died and back then gordon was a good company to drive for! yes im old so leave me be! even when larry gordon ran the company the drivers loved the company but now?? sounds like some one else is running it into the ground!!
there are some other things my friends have said about this company even to me seem far fetched but when i see a news report on tv about companies useing cameras to watch there employees well
but then you look here on this site and see all the big fleets posted here and drivers saying this and that? just thinking about it it seems that they just dont care about there drivers because they know they can replace them as fast as they leave!! this is were we fail or should i say most of you fail trying to drive for those big fleets yes some might be good but looking here most all of them are bad as for me i drive for a small company that has servived this obama disaster economy
and i get paid for my miles and line 4
this is one more thing you all fail at if all you get is paid for the mile you drive and nothing else everything on line four is free you dont get paid for but do you think that company you drive for is not making money on line four you are flagging for free???? $$$$$$ it is figured into the cost that they charge the customer from pickup to delivery then the zip code thing
so may i ask just how much is your company making off you while you drive for them?? hhmmmm
union driver do nothing but laugh at you as you pass them do you know that?? they too get paid for both line three and line four! do you??
so as crappy companies go Gordon seems to fit right in with the rest of them!!

do you all know what INC. means?? public records!! had my wife look into the gordons did you know they got record profits this year!! the gordons are billionaires!!! as is the big fleets owners!!!
and they cant pay you for line four??

but in all my years driving i have seen this career ( truck drivers )
go from good to bad to very bad when you can get out of your truck and go punch a time clock and make just as much money as driving then why drive?? then the other thing i hear all the time is when this economy turns we will have the upper hand?? you really beleave that??
then you got them libs on your back wanting to change the HOS!!! on everyone what then?? and now for the knife in the back we all say
WE SHOULD BE THANKFULL WE STILL HAVE JOBS!!!
then why are we all so dam miserable????

again i say union driver just laugh at us as we past them they get paid more and have to work less and dont have to drive as fast to get them allmighty miles in each day

now some one is going to say if the class a drivers went union everything will go up in price!!! i say is it not going up as it is now??? and then some?? so how does the food chain company drivers all be union???

why does this site with all that log in here not set up a forum to or for the drivers to get organized?? some way to get things rolling to mabe make thing better for the drivers?? better pay with less hours away from home
dont have to suck up to crappy shippers or recievers!!

First off all..it's nonsense saying that you won't get a load if your truck isn't washed...that's a bunch of bull.

My company doesnt do service failures, they use a different method, its called "re-scheduling", or "hey my driver is going to be late", works everytime, lol. Glad I dont work for a company that gives you service failures? Ridiculous. Unless you are just a lousy driver and are always late. lol

Are you sure a company would give a driver a service failure for having their truck fixed? That doesnt sound right, even with the bottom feeder co's.

I wash my truck once a week, whether I pay for it or my boss pays for it. live in the dam thing, and its got to look good or I am unhappy. Theres a good feeling when driving a freshly washed rig with freshly polished wheels. Yeah, its that important to me.

Some trucks look just disgusting and should be washed.

 

I worked for Gordon for 20mths. Started having problems with them 4mths after I started with them. I now talk regularly with 3 drivers who still work for them. 2 are quitting. They are no longer a good company. Can't keep good Dispatchers because dispatches see that gordons screwing everyone over big time;therefore the dispatchers you do have don't know what the hell they're doing. Can't keep good drivers because; Have drivers doing local runs for a day or two in every major/minor city after 1 decent run and before you "might" get another decent run. Driver's being penalized for: not flip/flopping their hours every 3 days, not taking illegal loads,########,not being on the load planners good side. Trucks take 3-4 days to get fixed and then most likely will not be not be fixed right. Gordon now has largest turn over rate than ever before. Seen a 2014 truck the other day ,front end gone. Had a co-worker there for 15 years,quit due to being treated like ....! Their giving poor driving neebies all the miles because they pay them less ;old drivers are getting all the c...p. Gordon will lie in court believe it.

 

Happy Divers at Gordon? YEA RIGHT! Gordon now has highest turn over rate than ever before according to my insider. A driver who was there for 16 years quit because they wouldn't stop flip flopping his sleeping patterns every 3 days. He was doing local work for 1-2 days in every minor/major city after a half way decent run and before he " MIGHT " get another decent run.They'
re giving their neebies that make .28 a mile all the miles because of course their paid less.Neebies are bottom of the barrel because their screwing old drivers big time,treating them like "TOOLS" not people.Gordon just not a good company to work. They can't keep good dispatchers either . Their load planner holds grudges and act's like god. Don't get on his bad side.You left Gordon while the getting was good believe me. Good luck with a better company.
