I thought IRS form 2290 was for federal road use tax at least it was when I had my own trucks 10 years ago.

Because that $4300 would not even cover the basic testing for any significant illness. My father and bother are both doctors, and any heart related disorder, will rack up $10K in tests so fast its not even funny...... and that just to see whats wrong!!.....and with all the lawsuits, they will not do anything with out proper diagnois.

These are all good and valid points here guys, but, i would much rather drive for a small ic than a bfi. You know? Grandpa is passed, and dad is retired. My only thing is to try and get a decent job in wich i can work confortably without the safety overkill stuff all these bfi companies have, i know they have to over-regulate everything due to them having mostly newbie drivers but, i also need a good calm working enviroment, without having to slave away for some $400 a week, you know? I agree it's kinda low in pay, but i've already pulled two loads (so-cal - seattle - socal) and like the overall attitude and atmosphere here better. As far as the irs goes, i DID ask how i neede to go about it. The boss exolained and said "it's a 2290 form each year, don't worry about it, i'll take care of it".

All that matters in the long run is that you are happy with the job and you are able to provide for your family. Good luck and God bless.

ill take that job over any mega carriers any day.

that's what i love about small fleets no bull #### and ur working from day 1, mega carriers would hold u down for weeks trying to screw you over with a fleece program.

don't listen to these fools that want to get paid 100k a year to drive a truck with benefits/union.
