There are alot of Millis threads to sift through here. Most seems to be about training and then driving.

Just wondering about Millis for someone who already has experience. If you could give me current info or point me to a thread that already has the info in it.

My main points of interest are, does Millis pay for all lumpers, how often do you go to New York City area, do they have apus or can you idle, how good are they at getting you home when it's time.

Any responses are appreciated, be safe and Happy New Year

Howdy, welcome! I'm not an employee as yet but i have read about 80% of the Millis threads on here. If your wanting information on Milis I would suggest the "Millis Chat Room" thread. Everything your asking is in there, plus your next question is answered in there as well. Enjoy!:yes2557:

They hire experienced drivers all the time.

They pay all lumpers, but needing lumpers is rare here.

I have never been to NYC with this company but they pay $100 extra to go there. I think you can turn down NYC runs but like I said, I've never been.

A few trucks have APUs but they aren't buying any more. OTR trucks have bunk heaters, my regional truck does not. You can idle all you want but it could effect your MPG bonus.

Hometime is good. Dispatchers are penalized if they don't get you home when requested so they get you there on time.

ok, thanks for replies. I'm reading the Millis chat room thread.

My other questions that come to mind are, do they let you run the toll roads, do they have pre pass.

I know Millis hauls alot of beer because I see them when I go to Miller in Trenton. Do you go to Lesaint to get a bulkhead or do you have your own system?

Yes they do have prepass and ezpass, though there are a couple of the toll roads that are restricted. They prefer not running toll roads if practical. I'm not sure what you mean by going to LeSaint to get a bulkhead. I myself have never hauled glass out of Trenton, always bring it in, which is usually dropped at the drop lot.

We have remove able bulkheads in all our trailers so we don't need the plastic ones. Funny thing is, most of my loads still have plastic bulkheads in them.

All of the glass I haul goes straight into the brewery.

Yes we have prepass and run toll roads.

    ricrey99 Thanks this.

The millis yard drivers set the bulk head when they take the trailer into the brewery in Trenton. The only time you would go to Le saints would be if you had a load of glass going there and it is late. Other than that glass loads go to the drop yard and the day cabs run them to lesaints and they also pull most of the loads out of the brewery for you.

Thanks for all the great info everyone shared.

Millis sounds pretty good, my only thing is if I have to head towards the northeast again, I'd rather wait until spring.

I'll keep watching the Millis threads and if I get brave enough to make a change I'll let y'all know.......again thanks.
