DMV Shows Spotty Record For Trucking Co.

They really need a runaway truck ramp here. If anyone recalls the four person fatal, after another runaway dump truck careened into stopped traffic. I'm very familiar with the intersection. Very dangerous for a truck with shoddy maintenance.

 

I read this story, and simply sit here puzzled.

Unsafe "company" rating.

Hero truck driver.

Truck hasn't been inspected in 90 days ?? WTF ?

Truck driver = first line of defense for vehicle inspections. He failed miserably. Although he did save a few lives. The brakes are his fault.

Typical reporter mislead IMO.

 

I suspect that the inference is that the truck has not been inspected by an outside agency in the past 90 days. The driver may well have done his daily inspections, and simply overheated the brakes coming down the mountain. I do agree, however, that crashing into a building, vice hitting a few cars, does not make you a "hero". He had no idea how many people were inside the building when he hit it. It could have been a storefront church, or the scene of a group AA meeting at the time, and the driver would not have known. That street and intersection are dangerous, and the powers that be need to do something about it.

Also i do agree i know the area a run off would be nice... BUT CT is to freakin cheap to even buy new books for our schools.. You think theyll go and dig a whole and fill it with something? I think not
