Can any recommend a decent 12v fridge? Looking to spend about $100. I have read lots of reveiws of a few different brands, all of them have good and bad so I am no closer to choosing one now than I was before I started researching. What experiences have you guys had with different brands? What's a good one?

Are you wanting a fridge or a cooler? $100 won't buy you a fridge.

I guess I didn't know there was a difference really. I had a coleman 12v thermoelectric cooler, and it was shot within 2 months. read good and bad reveiws about that and the igloo brands. It's just for drinks and maybe fruit. No real food will probably ever be in there.

I use a Coleman electric cooler, don't remember what I paid for it but it works great..

You can buy Koolatron coolers on line very reasonably. I just bought a Koolatron P85 which I believe is the largest one they make for under $150 and it came with the cord so that you can plug the cooler in and use house electricity.

I have had Coleman and have been happy, others haven't. I'm using one now, after the Koolatron gave out on me.
If you have an inverter, a dorm size refrigerator is a possibility. Might get one for a c-note or thereabouts. -
walmart has dorm fridges for 70 bucks

The 12v real fridges are a little steep in price for my comfort level. I have gotten great results with an Avanti fridge (similar to any dorm fridge you would find at Wally World) run off inverter. It is true fridge, not some thermoelectric type. Got it online for around $80. It only uses about 80 watts when running and about double that for start up, so a small inverter would work fine. Been in the truck for better part of two years and works like a charm.

IF you can have an inverter get one, and never look back
I have a 'compact' (i.e. dorm style) COMPRESSOR/REFRIGERANT fridge AND freezer from Wally World in my truck, and it uses 160W, no huge surge to poer on either. Over a year now, and running strong.

Bought it in OR, and what I saved in sales tax, I paid for a 2 yr replacement warranty -
you get what you pay for.i spent $400. on an ac/dc chest type 40 qt that can be used as either a fridge or freezer.i have 2 that i use.one of each.they have lasted over 5 years each.they have digital temp. settings.i figure with what i saved on spoiled food, and how many igloo's and colemans,i think it has paid for itself.
