Passed! No problem. 104/104 on my pre-trip, and only missed 9 points of a possible 27 I could miss on the road test.l, which I will blame on my cold and medication. Nailed the straight back and alley dock no problem. Now to go by the DMV tomorrow to get my license.

Went with Boyd Bros. Did orientation last week, and this week I am with my trainer. Should have my own truck by the first week of Feb. :biggrin_255: Loving it so far!

Hows the road treating ya? Hows things with your trainer? How is the company itself ( friendly, honest, straight forward ? ) Equipment in good running order?
Hope everything is going good for ya!

Well actually... the road is treating me very well, since I was off since Wednesday of last week, and I have all of this week off. :biggrin_25514: My trainer was off this week, so they had the nerve to tell me to stay home and relax all this week! How dare they do such a thing! They even told me they would pay me for it. How outrageous is that? :biggrin_255:

Trainer is a good guy it seems. At least well enough to tolerate for my 4 weeks in the truck. I wanted this job for solitude on the road, so being stuck in such close quarters with a trainer isn't exactly my idea of a good time. Of course it's not meant to be enjoyable, it's learning. Company is awesome so far, treating me very well thus far. I'm as happy as could be. Equipment that I have seen so far is above par with the little experience I have with seeing other companies.

Thanks for the well wishing. Hope things are going well for you also.

I dunno how far you are into this.

But those "pre tarped" loads at McElroy are tarped by the student/trainee drivers. They use them during their orientation/training period.

The ones at the yard are, anyway.

Good luck with getting a local gig.

But I will say, they seem to be a decent company. Never worked for them. But I have friends there that like it.

Please tell me if you're still behind the wheel S3Zyklon? Are those eyes as big for the industry as your words were a while ago? I'm not trying to punk on ya at all. I just know whats its like to wanting an awsome story from the road and then finding the truth about trucking!
